Sunday Sum-Up

This week has felt like a complete whirlwind. Crazy loads of work after a long weekend, an extremely important appointment and lack up sleep have unfortunately amounted to low levels of inspiration and motivation.  Needless to say, my review process has begun to look something like this..

If you happen to follow my Bookstagram account, you may notice the reoccurring theme that is fewer books and more Ben & Jerry’s as of late. I officially have a problem. But on the plus side, I could write a stellar essay on Chunky Monkey and Cherry Garcia 😉

But all is not lost. There were several highlights of the week. I completed two amazing books and reviews are up if interested. I highly recommend both of these!

I also decided to finally check out NetGalley. I am confused as to why I have put this off for so long. It’s never too late, as they say. I managed to snag a title that lead to a slight detour in my TBR. This is exactly why I need to keep that list on the short side each month. My current read is now Watching Edie by Camilla Way. I am pretty happy with this, as I had originally signed up for an ARC and missed the opportunity. So far I am picking up some eerie vibes and digging it.

And as if that were not enough, I have officially won my first giveaway ever! I will soon be receiving my first official ARC book-mail.

I am probably more excited about this than necessary, but I have literally never won anything. This was a big event for me. I may celebrate with some Ben & Jerry’s 😉

And last but least..

“Even in the Future the Story Begins with Once Upon a Time.”
Marissa Meyer, Cinder

“Vanity is a factor, but it is more a question of control. It is easier to trick others into perceiving you as beautiful if you can convince yourself you are beautiful. But mirrors have an uncanny way of telling the truth.”
Marissa Meyer, Cinder

“But if there was one thing she knew from years as a mechanic, it was that some stains never came out.”
Marissa Meyer, Cinder

“Funny how you notice how beautiful things are just when you’re about to leave them.”
Laura Ruby, Bone Gap

“People look, they don’t see.”
Laura Ruby, Bone Gap

“But wasn’t that love? Seeing what no one else could?”
Laura Ruby, Bone Gap

What have you been reading this week? Do you normally keep a TBR each month? I am personally rethinking monthly TBRs. I always seem to stray anyways. Of course I will continue to add to my never ending TBR on Goodreads. By the way, I am constantly looking to connect with more people on GR. Please feel free to friend me. You can find my profile here. I hope everyone has had a lovely week. Until next time..
