Sunday Sum-Up

The weeks are flying by and I am entering the final countdown for school. Get these snotty kids out of my house already! Haha, just kidding I love them, but seriously..

Can someone teach me how to resize this haha?

Now that you been provided with a “Sunday Soundbomb” (I sense I new Sunday blog coming) courtesy of yours truly,Β I actually have a question for my fellow bloggers. Have you been experiencing issues with pingbacks? I have verified that each post is set to allow them, yet I am discovering I never receive notification. I am just clueless at this point. Pingbacks allowed: yes. Notification received: No. Any suggestions?

Okay so now that I have cried a bit, we can carry on as usual.

Current Reads

My reading progress has been slow. I had several appointments this week and seem to be juggling more than normal. That’s okay, it happens. I am currently still reading The Wolf Road by Beth Lewis. It finally arrived and I am hooked! I am only adding one new title to the list this week. I may have a bit of a theme going πŸ˜‰

The Reader
by M.K. Harkins

Goodreads Synopsis:

“Hunted, shot, and without her memory, eighteen-year-old Ann Baker wakes in shallow water on a deserted Pacific Northwest island. She is soon approached by two young men claiming to be her friends. Something isn’t right, but when gunshots sound, Ann is left with little choice but to allow Devon and Archer to help her escape. Soon she finds herself in their North Bend mountain compound, where the higher evolved humans claim to be mind-readers. While Ann heals, she realizes they believe her to be one of the last and most powerful of all – The Lost One.

She’s welcomed by most with opened arms, but not everyone is happy about her arrival. A jealous adversary has plans for Ann, which spirals the entire Reader community into chaos.

As lies, murder, and betrayal threaten to rip apart the once harmonious mountain dwellers, Ann is thrust into making a decision that could save or devastate not only The Readers, but all of mankind. But there’s just one glitch: by doing so it may require her to make the ultimate sacrifice.”

Quotes of The Week

Slower reading means fewer quotes. I do have a few of my favorite lines from The Bone Sparrow to share with you. I actually encourage you to read this title if you have not done so. You can find my recent review here if you are interested.

“We called them her Listen Now Stories, because each and every one started with ‘Listen now, Subhi. Listen now, Noor'”
-Zana Fraillon, The Bone Sparrow

“And I wish I didn’t understand, because understanding doesn’t fix it. understanding just makes it worse.”
-Zana Fraillon, The Bone Sparrow

“…he’s having a good day today. His eyes smile along with his mouth,..”
-Zana Fraillon, The Bone Sparrow

Well, I feel the Sunday Shudder setting in so it is time to begin those dreaded deeds. Sunday, as many of you know, isΒ my “laundry/get ready for Monday” day. I detest laundry and getting ready for Monday. I also think adulting is very overrated.

I hope everyone has a fantastic rest of the weekend. I am going to make mine a tad better by squeezing in lots of tea and coffee with reading πŸ˜‰

Cheers!

  1. I doubt they’ve removed them just that the theme is messed up, well I like my simple theme so they better not have! Neither me or the other blogger have added anything to the sidebar, etc to mess it up so it mustbe wordpress.

    I use the button theme.

Ah, a friend blogger, you know if there a fan of awesome reviews then they should check my blog out! πŸ˜‚

  2. \m/ :’). If you would’ve been able to resize it, we wouldn’t have been able to admire the guy’s lipgloss in the video! (and no idea how to do it either here πŸ˜‰ ) I haven’t received all the pingbacks I should’ve either lately. Sunday is laundry day over here as well. But I’ve told myself I’m allowed to skip it if it’s too warm ^^.

  3. I don’t know about the pingbacks. Is it because they link to your general url and not to a specific post perhaps? I’ve had that once and thought that was the problem, but I could be wrong. I know Jill had a lot of problems with pingbacks too and did a post about it. I don’t mind laundry but hate cleaning ;-).
