Sunshine Blogger Award 2.0

sunshine21.png

I am a few days late with this post, and I believe I have missed a few nominations. I apologize. Between my current schedule and the issue with pingbacks, I am missing a lot 😦 Thank you Lara @TheHeathen for nominating me! I actually enjoy book tags and blogger awards. They are some of my favorite posts to read. They often give us an extra glimpse into the life of the blogger behind the post. So generally, I will participate when able.

Rules

  • Thank the person who nominated you.

  • Answer 11 questions set by the person who nominated you.

  • Nominate 11 bloggers to receive the award and write them 11 new questions to answer.

Lara’s Questions

  1. How many books have you read this year?

I believe I just broke 70, which was my Goodreads challenge, but keep in mind some of these were manga titles.

  2. What is your favourite genre of books?

Fantasy and Horror. I love the idea of magic and epic battles with fantastic realms. Plus I really want a pet dragon.. don’t judge.

I also enjoy scaring the piss out of myself for some damn reason.

  3. What’s your favourite past time apart from blogging?

I am guessing reading does not count, so I am going to have to give that cliché answer, family. Because it is true. I have two children and the world’s greatest nonhusband, so I cannot get enough of them. I am also an avid gamer when my health allows. Sometimes (like currently) the vertigo is too much with video games. I also have a deep love for animation.

  4. Who is your one true book love?

If we are talking fictional crush.. I don’t have one. Haha, unless you can count Bilbo Baggins. I do have a think for short men 😉 I love everything about Bilbo and The Hobbit is my all time favorite. So call me weird, but I guess I have a hobbit fetish.

  5. What was the last movie you watched?

Kubo and the Two Strings. It was actually very good. I think I enjoyed it more than the kids.

  6. What was the last book you bought?

The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor. I buy anything and everything remotely related to Wonderland.

  7. How often do you blog?

I Think I average 3 to 4 times weekly. Although I have been forced to slow down a bit recently. Blogging is an awesome outlet.

  8. Do people in your real world know that you’re a blogger?

The ones that care enough to pay attention do 😉

  9. Do you hate the words blog and blogger?

Meh.. I review and I blog. It makes no difference to me. I am pretty easy. Is that a thing? Do people dislike being labeled “Bloggers”?

  10. What’s your favourite curse word?

F**K..sorry but I have a serious potty mouth. My kids have been properly trained to do as I tell them, not as I say because I curse like it is going out of style. It is stress relieving for me. I actually find it healthy and recommend it to all 🙂

  11. What’s your average reading time?

2 to 3 days generally. Sometimes faster if I have a whole day of nothing to do and love a book 🙂 Funny this is mentioned. We were just discussing something similar on my last post.

*Sorry for the font irregularities, but WordPress has been giving me fits.. and it is a battle I am tired of fighting today.. and every day..

  1. Do you mean to tell me that your favourite curse word is f#ck but you couldn’t even write it properly, oh man! 😢

Blogger is a bad term there’s a new better term, Anne will agree with me when she visits this post and that term is Awesome Bloggers Club! 😀👍

Oh and everyone wants a pet dragon, I’ve got one and it’s called Jill! 😂

        1. Was ze fuck is up with this..this…decency thing you guys speak of?! I’d have my ass flagged 2 weeks into blogging if I abided by any decency rules :D. Leaving reviews on Amazon is a whole different story, though ;).
Danielle, you automatically become a member of the Awesome Bloggers Club right after using its hashtag.

  2. I love cursing as well… If f*cks could wear out, then none would exist in my world, it’s a daily word for me and sometimes I even sing it in a little nonannoyed voice, creeps the husband out cos he can’t figure out if I’m pissed off or actually just enjoying the word so much! Hahaha…
Man, I loved the Bilbo Baggins reveal…I love it when people have different and unique tastes…

  3. Fantasy and Horror eh? Have I got a rec for you! (why, yes indeed, that’s just what you needed, more recs!): After Life by Daniel Ionson. I read it a couple of months ago and oh boy: great horror fantasy! Aaah, Bilbo Baggins <3. We called one of our cats who had a massive pair of nuts (like, he couldn't sit properly-massive) Bilbo Baggins. Yeah baby.
I am SO curious to see what you think of the Looking Glass Wars :). I loved the Middle-Grade spin-off! Regarding #9…I do hate it when people in real life refer to my 'blog'. I rather call it my website. Because it sounds more professional and less like an online diary or something. Like I've actually accomplished something*roars with laughter* ;).
Potty mouth = being Zen. Anyone who says otherwise is still just too stressed to realise ;). Or from Alabama.

  4. Oh god, I know what you mean about the cursing! I have the exact same issue. It got particularly bad when I was in Japan because I got so used to people not knowing English. On the plane ride home, I swore rather loudly and my friend was mortified.

Gonna answer these questions later! Been a while since I’ve done one of these posts 🙂 Thanks for sharing your answers!
