Thank you so much to Cheyenne @ Cheyenne Raphael Writes for including me in this wonderful tag! Stop by her lovely blog and say hello if you have not already done so.
The Rules:
- Link the blogger who nominated you. Answer the questions you’re given. Nominate 10 bloggers. Write out your 10 questions for them. Let them know they’ve been tagged.
Questions I Received:
- Name three fictional characters who would either be your best friends or your worst enemies.
This is a difficult one. I am admittedly hard to get along with at times. I could take the easy way out and name three enemies, but I will try to provide three fictional characters I believe would mesh well with myself.
* Alice from Alice in the Country of Hearts – This manga character has a somewhat realistic approach to her environment and tends to question everything. She also has a low tolerancefor BS and is somewhat plain but not without her naughty side ;).
*Bilbo Baggins from The Hobbit – Yes, I know.. I am always going on about this hobbit. But truth is, he loves second breakfast and his simple and quiet life but manages to step up to the plate when required. I think I could enjoy his company just fine.
*Anne Shirley from Anne of Green Gables – I think it would be impossible not to get along with Anne. She is naturally kind-hearted and has a wonderful imagination. - Name three songs that describe your personality.Hard! I am not sure if I can say these fully describe me, but they definitely resonated with certain periods of my life and carry heavy, personal meaning.
Across the Universe – The Beatles
Landslide – Fleetwood Mac
Better Together – Jack Johnson - Coffee or tea?I am equally split on this one. I can be caught with coffee the first half of the day (as mine starts so early at times) and the will be seen finishing with tea throughout the evening.
- Favorite emoji? It is a toss-up between the “poo” emoji and the monkey covering his eyes I think. Although I recently discovered a unicorn, which is climbing the ranks ❤
- What’s one thing you think would be amazing yet are terrified to do?
Deep sea diving in a submersible. My son dreams of becoming a marine biologist with a focus on deep sea life. The documentaries and books we read together are incredible and the possibilities for new and strange life endless. I am beyond fascinated. But the thought of being so far below in a tiny sub does terrify me.
Also a real haunted tour! Not some joke tour in the city, but like actually travelling to the most haunted places on earth. For sure!
- What’s the most awkward/embarrassing thing anyone has ever asked/said to you?
Not sure. I am horrible at paying attention, and I tend to not hang on to negative “commentary”. Maybe, “is that dog shit on your shoe?”
- What’s your idea of the perfect weekend?
Just time with the fam. It doesn’t have to be adventurous or exciting. We do not even have to be doing something together, but with a nonhusband who is a business consultant, my son traveling to OH often and my daughter in debate, etc. I find our days at home all together become limited. I try to relish in every moment where we all occupy the same space.
- You are given the opportunity to eat lunch with three of your favorite authors/singers/famous people of choice. Who do you invite?
Definitely Stephen King. He is beyond talented and always has the most amazing insight and opinions on matters. Neil Gaiman for sure! So witty and charming 🙂 I think I would add Ania Ahlborn, another favorite horror author of mine. She seems to be very genuine, and I believe she mentioned recently she would love to be invited to dinner with King.
- What is the one book/memory/other object you turn to for comfort?
The Hobbit. Always my copy of The Hobbit. Tolkien saved me during a bad time. I also have a small pillow my son gave to me. So usually I can be found with both and chocolate milk if it is bad. I am like a big child in that sense 😉
- What is one thing you would like the world to know?
It is okay to be you!
*I know I have been nominated for multiple book tags lately, and I apologize for not being able to complete almost all of them. As many of you are aware, I have been experiencing a lot of technical issues that forced me to work from my phone *cringe* and my nonhusband’s laptop when available. I believe those issues have been resolved, so I promise to make every effort to be more responsive going forward ❤
So I am nominating all who would like to participate.
My Questions For You:
- If you had to choose your favorite book and remove one character, who would it be and why?
- Name one thing that other reviewers do that annoys you (aside from spoilers).
- What is the most important attribute in other people for you?
- Name your biggest pet peeve.
- Name 3 of your favorite stand-alone books.
- Name one item on your “bucket” list.
- Describe one thing about yourself that many of your followers may not know.
- What is your favorite genre and why?
- If you had to compare yourself to a book, which one would you be?
- Use the letters of your favorite color to describe yourself.
I love that your son wants to be a Marine Biologist! My son had leanings towards that when he was in high school until he relized he was terrified of being on boats. Hahahaha. I also adore how you love The Hobbit so much. I am kind of jealous because I don’t have a book like that. I do have a pillow from son though and I agree it is the best thing. And thank you for calling your significant other your nonhusband because I cringe when people call them their “lover”. Hehe. 💩

Haha “lover” sounds creepy almost. I have a friend who cannot stand that word. Although I am guilty of using it in front of her just because 😉 Maybe you just haven’t discovered that one book yet. Thanks for the emoji hehe 💩🖒🦄

I am jealous of your unicorn. Kindle desn’t have one. 😒

I am the same with you on Coffee and Tea!! I need my coffee in the morning and then in the afternoon, I will drink myself some tea. I think it’s cool that your son wants to be a Marine Biologist, I find the ocean to be fascinating but also terrifying like yourself because of all the endless life that we don’t know about. But I’m pretty sure the Government has plenty of it’s secrets of the ocean life.

I am pretty sure they do also 😉 in fact my son swears he is going to discover new life and expose secrets haha. He still thinks that Megladon is still alive and they hide it (he is 11 hehe).

The poop emoji is my fave too! Lol. And I really like your term “non-husband”. I think I may have to steal that from you. 😉

Your son is cool and smart at only 11! Wonderful 🙂 There’s a bright future ahead of him 🙂
Love the answer to Q10 🙂 It totally is OK to be who we are and I wish all of us would remember it more often… I had a hard time being me in my teens because I was, I wouldn’t call goth, but, metal and all my friends were disco scene and I got a LOT of stick 😀 Older ladies on the street kept commenting that “Oh, but deary, Halloween is months away yet!”…
anyway, cool tag, loved your answers! 🙂

Thanks Liz! I also struggled during my teen years and looking back realize that at times I really could have been better and truer to myself. I grew up in a very small town often felt like I did quite fit. Now raising my own, I understand just how important it is for them to rock their own skin 😉

You’re a great mom 😎 life teaches us, that’s for sure… Sometimes the lessons could be learnt quicker… But at least we learn them 😀

Marine Biology is quite interesting. Your son is also very smart. 🙂
Although I prefer Coffee, I do like to sip tea once in a while. Tea is a great comfort when you’re tired. It actually works miracles.
I love your answers. And I agree with the last one. 🙂

Thanks ❤ I definitely have all coffee days haha. And tea can do real wonders for rest and relaxation 🙂

Hahah. Exactly.
You should try Kashmiri Chai otherwise known as Pink Tea because of its pink colour. It’s the most delicious chai.

I really like chai teas, but have not heard of Kashmiri. Currently looking into this! Thanks ❤

I love your choice of songs, Landslide is so amazing!!!
I prefer tea, I don’t like coffee 😦 I’m so weird XD

Landslide really is. I love Stevie. I think coffee if a love or hate sort of thing. You either really appreciate it cannot. Same with my nonhusband hating tea. I have containers of loose leaf every where, and he takes me to the tea store for my birthdays. but he will not touch it 🙂

Wow your son is aiming high. At that age (even at 18) I had no idea what I wanted to do for a job. I have never used that emoji, maybe I should try it sometime. I think they should have more emoji’s because it’s not always easy to find what I want (on FB). I like the dancing emoji’s best 🙂

I am not sure which one is the dancing one. Now I have to go look haha. Yeah both of my kids have it together so well. My daughter is aiming for law school and has based her entire high school curriculum and extracurricular activities based on the preferred requirements of applicants at the colleges she wants to apply to. They do not get it from me haha! I have no idea Inge. They are making me proud though, so thank you ❤ Sometimes I still feel like I do not know what I want to do 😉

And I thought young people were not thinking about the future so much these days. A marine scientist and a lawyer too, you have model children (don’t let them read this) 🙂 and you should definitely be proud of them.

Haha thanks Inge ❤ Yeah they stay off of my blog. I praise them when deserved, but we cannot have their little heads swelling 😉

You’re hard to get along with at times? I can’t imagine that at all! (no sarcasm!)
I LOVE Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks <3. You picked some deep emotional songs there girl. I'm already tearing up again while listening to Landslide. *sighs*. So yes, going to the poo emoji, I believe that one's my favourite as well ;). Marine biology is super awesome, but I can understand the thought of being so deep into the ocean is scary. Heck, I'm getting claustrophobic just thinking about it!
I loved your answers and couldn't agree more with the last one ❤

Wait, there’s a unicorn emoji??? How did I miss that!? Nice answers 🙂 Family time is always the first to dwindle when life happens, unfortunately. I’m a tea girl, but I love the wafts of fresh coffee in the morning!

I think I could give up coffee and still crave the smell. Just give an air freshener that is fresh brewed coffee. That would be amazing. Like this 🦄. I try really hard to focus on family, because you are so right!
