Sunday Sum-Up

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @Β Caffeinated Book Reviewer that I am linking my Sunday Sum-Ups with. I highly suggest visiting the Caffeinated Book Reviewer if you have not already. The blog is beautiful and Kimba is fantastic!

This previous week was a busy one. I have a feeling that will be the pattern as we move forward, into the new year. Currently there are birthdays and holidays to prepare for, so my reading slows down. I am not sure if it is the rain or the cooler weather (probably a combination of both) but it seems to take me twice as long to complete a title. My pile remains beside me, ever faithful πŸ˜‰ So here is what 10/31/16 – 11/6/16 has included forΒ Books, Vertigo and Tea.

*Formatting is off in the reader (always with WP) but much more accurate on the actual site if it bother you πŸ™‚

The Sleeper and the Spindle

Illustrated by Chris Riddell

The Amateurs (The Amateurs #1)

I also had the pleasure of introducing you to a dear friend, Stephanie

And I was also able to share Dane Cobain’s latest cover reveal:

Come On Up to the House

Until Next Sunday..

I don’t really have a huge wrap-up for October, but I managed to complete 13 books, which is much more than I realized. Β Today I am going to do the usual Sunday “errands” and try to catch up on my newest additions. What are you reading this week? Do you have any upcoming releases you cannot wait to get a hold of? I still need to order Heartless. Maybe that will be a part of the “errands” today πŸ˜‰

I hope everyone enjoys what is left of their weekend and may you each have a fabulous week ahead!

  1. I meant to tell you before that I love, love, love, the dark purple! I didn’t request Hag-Seed because I read The Heart Goes Last and didn’t like it, but a lot of bloggers with similar taste to mine have liked it, so now I am kind of kicking myself for not requesting. Ha! I will be stopping back around to your tag posts. I am looking forward to Of Shattered Minds, the last book in the Of Breakable Things trilogy. It is supposed to come out the 8th, but there isn’t even a cover on Goidreads at this point. Have a fantastic week. πŸ™‚

    1. Oh I hate when there is no cover available yet and I am excited πŸ˜‚ I just broken down and committed to my preorder of Heartless. Should be here Tuesday!

My charming son picked the purple after I told him the light pink was straining my eyes. I am so glad it is receiving such positive feedback. He is becoming my little editor in all I do haha πŸ’— Thanks so much!

  2. Books don’t go anywhere so that’s easy :-). I haven’t read anything by Margaret Atwood yet, although I have one of her books (somewhere). I purchased The Secret by Katerina Diamond because it was only .99p. I had to chat with Amazon customer service for that though. Apparently I can only buy 5 things and then I will be blocked again and have to do the same thing, because I don’t actually live in the UK. Bleh. I mean, it’s just as good as no? If they would just let me, I’d be one-clicking a whole of a lot more than if I have to ask them nicely to let me buy an e-book time and time again. I hope you have a great week !

    1. Ok so this Amazon situation is very confusing! They actually block you after 5 titles?! Wth.. Is Nook an option? Or no? That is absurd!

I have mixed feelings with Atwood. The Handmaid’s Tale did not excite me as much as I felt it should, yet the message behind it managed to resonate a bit. So I am giving this a fair go after seeing good remarks πŸ˜‰

      1. Yes, I order on the UK site but I’m not actually a UK resident. I don’t understand why this matters. I have the same on Books are still cheapest on Amazon unfortunately. It’s good for not buying many books ;-). I hope the other book works out for you. Just went to look up which title I have and it seems it’s not by this author after all. And we’re not even Monday yet πŸ˜‰

  3. I’m kinda thinking my reading might slow down too with the holidays coming. Although Netflix slows me down already lol.

I can’t wait to get to The Amateurs.

Sorry you had trouble commenting on my site. 😦 I do appreciate your trying though! This probably just means I should switch over to Disqus or something, which I’ve been thinking about anyway…

    Have a great week!

    1. Disqus usually works well, but do not apologize haha πŸ˜‚ Not your fault!

That dang Netflix slows everything down πŸ˜‰ And now new episodes of Black Mirror and Supernatural. How am I supposed to handle it all haha?

      Have a fantastic week Greg!

  4. I was planning to read Gilded Cage this month, but I think I’m pushing that one back until December. I hope you like it. From what I’ve heard, it sounds awesome! I’ve been so absent this week from blogging. I need to get read your Amateurs review now. I was waiting on that one. πŸ™‚

      1. I’m sort of on a blog hiatus with mini appearances. I’ve had a lot of interviews and writing I had to do for jobs the last few weeks. It’s been crazy. Last week was worse than the others, and this week is even worse than that one. πŸ˜‚ I still rile Drew up via email every day. πŸ™‚ He has no shortage of me driving him crazy. πŸ˜‚ That’s good. I’m glad you’re liking it. I hope I do as well. πŸ™‚

        1. Sounds like things are going well for you though ❀ That is always good to hear! Interviews are a plus. I would probably get more done if the vertigo would back off and my work days didn’t include getting up at 3 am haha. I am glad Drew is nit being neglected.

          1. Thanks! They’re going well so far. I should know what’s going on for sure in two weeks. Right now things are all over the place. Ugh, getting up at 3am sounds awful. And that probably doesn’t help with the vertigo. I don’t know how you do it all. That’s really great that you’re able to keep trucking. Ha! Drew is never neglected even when he thinks I’m neglecting him. πŸ™‚

  5. Reading a book can definitely count as an errand. Yup. And slow but steady! You can’t have any festivities and read at the same time! MUAHAHA, as if! *retreats on the toilet* πŸ˜‰

  6. I feel your pain with the birthdays. So many people seem to be born in November/December! It’s such an expensive time of year when Christmas is thrown into the equation 😦 I agree, I think it does take longer to read books in this weather. It’s so tempting to wrap up warm and get a hot drink when it’s cold outside and you get so sleepy πŸ˜› Congratulations on your read books, though! Way more than I got to read πŸ™‚

  7. Weirdly, my reading is doing the contrary! I managed to read two books and make progress with Lolita. Well, by progress I mean I read 14 pages… :p This might be due to the fact I haven’t been studying, haha! They said to do what made me happy… I grabbed my Kindle! I still haven’t read any Atwood despite the good things I have heard about A Handmaid’s Tale. Anyway, good luck with the busy weeks ahead and the preparations of upcoming events. Life is slowly getting in the way again πŸ™‚

  8. I’m seeing that I’m not the only one experiencing a great slowing down in the reading department…I’m actually lagging in the blogging department as well. Daylight savings time def doesn’t help either. LOve when I come across a Gaiman review, I’ll be checking that out next. I’m currently slowly making my way through The Graveyard Book in audiobook, enjoying Uncle Gaiman but feeling a bit sluggish myself. I still haven’t read anything by Atwood, but hope to do so in the near future. Amateurs is in my Amazon cart (cuz of you LOL) & I’m still trying to figure out a good time to read Gilded Cage, probably December πŸ˜‰

  9. The Gilded Cage looks really intriguing! I’ve seen it floating around a bit so I’ll be curious to see what you think of it. I’m really hoping that my reading is going to ramp up a bit over this season in contrast to you – I’m evolving into a super hermit and doing nothing but reading XD
