Sunday Sum-Up

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer that I am linking my Sunday Sum-Ups with. Please take time to visit Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer if you have not already. The blog is beautiful and she is fantastic!

My anime binge continues, and I have fallen victim to the dreaded reading slump. I recently snagged a few more volumes of a favorite manga that I am enjoying. Whether I will begin posting reviews on these is undecided. I would like to start incorporating more  into the blog. I am feeling very indecisive (yeah shocker). Welcoming any feedback or suggestions currently on that thought:) In the great words of Gandalf (AKA Tolkien):

“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

Let’s push forward and have a look at this past week on Books, Vertigo and Tea, shall we?

This was a busy week for many of us with the holidays, but I managed to find time to review two titles:

Queen of Hearts by Colleen Oakes
⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 1/2
Review Here

Manipulated Lives by H.A. Leuschel
⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
Review Here

I enjoyed both books immensely. I recommend Queen of Hearts to anyone seeking a fast and fun retelling. Manipulated Lives is a fantastic look into the human psych that I believe many will find great interest in.

I am excited to be hosting a giveaway for 4 signed copies of Dream Waters by Erin A. Jensen this week. (Apologies but this one is restricted to the US). This will continue until 12/11/16. Be sure to stop by and enter here.

I was also nominated for The Mystery Blogger Award by the one and only Jazz @ISwoonOver,FictionalNon-HumanMan. Giving her another shout-out because she always manages to provide a much-needed dose of humor and fun on even the most difficult days. You can check out my response here.

I also “participated” in a read-along for The Untold Tale by J.M. Frey. I am using quotations, because while I managed to post, the actual participation didn’t happen as I had hoped due to a bout of bronchitis. I still encourage you to check out this series.

Looking back, this was a pretty productive week. I managed to complete two titles, several posts and serve up a rather large (probably virus infested dinner) on Thursday. I am marking this one down as a win!

Hah! Seriously though, I am on the mend and hope everyone has had a restful and happy holiday or week!

Danielle ❤

  1. Virus infested dinner? 😂 Remind me not to read your posts before I’m about to eat dinner. Haha! Did you poison all your guests? lol I’ve had Queen of Hearts on my kindle for so many months I keep forgetting about it. I’ve barely read or blogged this week. I’m still only 25% into Crooked Kingdom. I’m hardly reading. 😂

  2. If you’re enjoying the anime/ manga you should review it, I know there are a lot of fans in the book blogosphere and many of us who are curious lol. Plus it’s nice to change things up once in a while. But either way hope the slump is short lived. 🙂

Frey looks awesome and so does Somewhere in the Shallow Sea. Cover love for both of those. And congrats on being nominated for the Mystery Blogger award! Very nice.

  3. Reading slump and virus infected dinner? ahhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *screaming* I hope you’re feeling better and that the reading slump goes bye bye. But I can’t even talk cause I have also been in a reading slump that has been a long time coming. Thanks again for tagging me on Mystery Blogger Award! I hope you have a better upcoming week ❤

  4. You’ve reviewed two books, that’s not bad at all! I hope those next ones will pull you out of your slump and otherwise you can read some more anime. I think it’s a great idea too to share some of these.. you’re kind of an expert compared to many of us so it’s nice to get an expert’s opinion, and maybe some will know where to start then too.

  5. Hope you are feeling better soon! I have caught the dreaded infestation so I know how you feel 😉 The kids were hacking up lovely things this morning lol. You finished two books, slowly but steadily pulling yourself out of the slump!!

  6. I am so happy the plague is on its way out for you, too. I didn’t have to worry about giving it to anyone on Thanksgiving because my son was the one who gave it to me. Ha ha. You did good getting two books read. I really enjoyed reading the Mystery Blogger post, too. Have a wonderful week. 🙂

  7. I’m pleased to hear that you’re on the mend ❤ I hope you recover from your reading slump too! I know the feeling, though. I haven't been reading and reviewing anywhere near as much as I've been wanting to. Maybe your anime binge is a kind of respite and will invigorate you 😀 What manga is it that you're currently reading? I haven't read any manga in a looooong time so it would be great if you started doing reviews! It would give me an idea of which ones to read 🙂

And thank you for your sweet words ❤
