Sunday Sum-Up

sunday

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer that I am linking my Sunday Sum-Ups with. Stop by and say hello!

The grand total for snow this week was a whopping 12 inches in many areas. the last time I bothered to check, we had almost 9 in our drive. Our trash has not run for a week so I have an abundance of recycling that is sitting in the garage. And driving without chains is a joke. So as you can imagine, many continue to stock up on supplies for those milk sammiches 😉

Crazy for Portland, but perhaps the craziest part is how much less this seems to bother me than everyone else. I have waited 6 years after moving across the country to see actual snow. The real, white and fluffy kind. So I have been happy to bundle up and take it all in. I am even using the time to prep some future post!

Given the fact that I cannot keep my eyes open longer than 10 minutes to actually read, this was a successful week for me. I completed 3 very satisfying titles.

It has been a pretty rewarding week even though I have encountered a few obstacles. I made the decision to cut back on some stressors in my life and am feeling confident about that choice. My son returned home safely from Ohio. I wish I could post a picture the video of him practically throwing himself from the car into the snow. He was overwhelmed. But apparently my children have a strict no pictures on the blog rule haha. I am sure it will be broken sooner or later 😉

I hope this coming week is kind and rewarding for each of you!

Cheers,

Danielle ❤

  1. Quality over quantity 🙂 ! I’m happy you’ve had so many good reads. This seems to have been a very good week for you on all accounts. Don’t tell anyone here you’re crazy about snow because you will get many strange looks. If I ever move across the big ocean, I’m sorry to say but we won’t be neighbours ;-).

  2. Wow, that’s a bit of snow! Yeti weather lol. And hey if you like snow, you do! I like it too, just wish it would stay off the roads ha ha. As long as it’s on the grass and I can drive, I’m good. 🙂

Caraval and Locke Lamora huh? Will be curious to see what you think of those two.

    Have a great week Danielle!

  3. Yes and yes, yes to a satisfying reading week, and hurrah to letting go of some stressors! I am super curious about Caravel because I don’t think any of my “go to” bloggers have read it yet. You are the first. For me it can snow all it wants, it’s the subzero temps I can’t stand. I am so happy Charlie is back home. Have a wonderful week. 🙂

  4. Look at all of that snow! I wish we could get that just once down here in Texas but nope. We got about 5 minutes of snow last week and my whole family ran outside freaking out 😂. Now we’re back in the high 70’s and 60’s with no cold weather in sight. I need to move to a place with seasons lol. All weather talk aside, it seems like you had a pretty great reading week. I hope next week is just as good. 💕😊

      1. I’m right outside the Houston area. Lol I know how that is. Not the snow but the city not being prepared. It goes haywire when it ices up so I can only imagine how it would be if we got that much snow. 😂
I finally started Gilded Cage and I’m loving it. What about you? 😊

        1. here in Portland, we are waiting on an ice storm now. Crazy. My kids need to go back to school..sometime?!

Oh I cannot wait to see what you think of Gilded Cage! The end of the book was the best for me. Of course I feel like all books should end that way.

          1. Oh wow! Well hopefully the weather calms down for you soon so they can lol.
I’m a little over half way through it now and kind of scared for the ending. But at the same time I can’t wait to see what happens. I have a feeling I’m going to want the second book ASAP. 😂

  5. I don’t mind snow either! We got about 5 inches the other day but then the next day it rained and it all melted and became ice! lol, Michigan is a crazy place to live in the winter. I’m glad you are having a good week, and your son is home! Exciting :).

  6. 9 inches of snow!? Now that’s real snow! We got a measly dusting a few days back and everyone was freaking out. It didn’t even settle and people were talking about closing the schools! Pleased you’re enjoying it 😀

  7. What a successful reading week! And all that snow! We still haven’t gotten that full snowstorm here in New York, it should be coming here any day now though…I’ll be reading The Devil Crept In any day now..I’m excited! How are you liking Lies of Locke Lamora? I’m happy that you have been distressing and I hope everything turns out great =)

    1. Thank you ❤ We are now waiting on an ice storm! I think Portland is broken..

The Lies of Locke Lamora is fantastic. I am really into. But it is one of those titles that take you forever.. Like I read for an hour and shake my head at my progress haha. Weird.. But worth the time!

I really cannot wait to see how you feel about The Devil Crept in 😉 ❤

      1. Ahh I have heard the same thing from other book peeps in regards to Lies of LL..I have it on kindle so it’ll be interesting to see my progress on it. Since I already find myself to be a slow reader lol.

And an ice storm?? Ahh!! More milk samwiches

  8. Wow, there’s barely snow here in Quebec (watch Mother Nature drop 100 cm down on me tomorrow just for mentioning that) which is pretty odd! But yoooooooooooooo, you’re currently reading The Lies of Locke Lamora!!!!! That’s one of my all time favourite books eveeeeeeeer!!! I do hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I did. DEFINITELY looking forward to your thoughts on that!!! 😀 😀

    1. Haha, you better get out some salt and shovels.. because Father Winter now has you on his radar!

So I am loving The Lies of Locke Lamora! Something odd though, 500 pages is decent, but I feel like I am reading this so slow for something I am also devouring. Did it take you a while to finish? Maybe it is because I only have time to read at night when I am exhausted. But good stuff!

      1. Well… I consider myself a slow reader, but I never found myself bored whenever I jumped back into the adventure. I just loved everything about the story (from the flashback sequences to the character dynamics, everytthhiiing). My review probably attests of my love for this book hahahh! The ending was also brilliant. Let’s see how it all goes for you! 😀
