Pairing Teas & Reads

I mentioned Sunday that I was making a small change to this feature. It will continue to be presented in the same format, but I wanted to encourage more variety. Twice a month I will now feature 3 random teas I have recently tried instead of just talking about existing standard blends. I continue to pair them with books and at the end I will pick a favorite. Enjoy!teas-read-5

Favorite of the Week:

This was a very close call for me. I enjoyed all three blends, but in the end Nottingham’s Green Tea Mango won me over. TheΒ light and fruitful flavor was just what I needed to perk me up a bit and provide a nice hint of sweetness. Have you tried any of these?

  1. Such a fruity pick! I like that the 3rd tea features psychological thrillers. I have the impression I haven’t seen those books getting paired too often in the past. By the way, what do you think about Terry Pratchet’s books? I hear there’s this particular “humour” in it. I’m curious of the kind of humour we’re talking about. I’d really like to try out the series, but I fear the humour might not please me, somehow.

    1. Discworld is so witty! I love the humor and sometimes it is slow and dry πŸ˜‰ Think Monty Pythonish maybe, if you are familiar. I need to jump back on the wagon. It has been too long. There are so many to get through. I always laugh aloud a bit, so that is a plus for me.

      1. I’m definitely interested in the health benefits, but I’m too sensitive to caffeine to be able to drink tea regularly. But I do enjoy the smell of a freshly brewed pot of herbal tea. πŸ™‚

  2. I so need a Get Happy gallon of tea xD I laughed so hard when I saw GoT paired with it. I was like “has she lost her mind? GoT? Happy???? We need to get her the real definition of happy!!!” and then I saw it was a coloring book, which makes it better hahahahaha.

  3. I had no idea there was a GoT coloring book… how cool! πŸ™‚
I see from comments, and your own preference, that people are drawn to the mango. I’m a black sheep in this, I dislike mango very much… its odd… I can’t stand the smell nor flavor for some reason… heh πŸ™‚

As for the last tea… haha, I just thought- ok, so you get a nice caffeine hit and then a book as well that keeps you on the edge of the seat? That sounds like a few hours of accelerated heart rate and dilated pupils! πŸ˜€

  4. Oh gosh Danielle! So happy to be back & see your feature up! I’m a tea drinker but since I am a creature of comfort, I’ve shied away from trying many other flavors. I LOVE fruity flavors though, the Green Tea Mango sounds Sooo Good! 😍awesome picks! πŸ’•

      1. LOVE green tea! I’m ordering this one for sure πŸ˜‰ & I’m sure the non-husband will comply haha! I am about 85% settled in but I just don’t want to look at another box so I’ve chosen to not think about it til tomorrow lol. There’s a corner of my living room that has stacks of my books in genre order thanks to Gretchen. I’m having my shelves bolted to the wall for the tiny humans safety…who am I kidding? for everyone’s safety! I have too many books smh. I’ve missed you too Danielle!!! ❀ I'm slowly coming out of the mess that has been my life this past week & a half πŸ˜‰

  5. I’ve had a Mango Green Tea before (and loved it) but not that specific brand so I’m thinking that’s one that I’ll definitely have to try. I’m really intrigued by the Get Happy Tea because of your Stardust pairing and the fact that I love lemony teas. I’ll have to try that too and keep it in mind for when I read Stardust this year. I always love your tea and book pairings posts, Danielle!! 😁

  6. There is a Jasmine Oolong tea in the world?! Oh man. I need that immediately. I adore Jasmine and Oolong teas, but jasmine is almost always a green tea. I couldn’t be happier. I like the pairing, “books that keep you on the edge of your seat”, but I’ll definitely be picking less thrilling books. O_o
