Pagers: 374
Genre: Sci Fi/ Dystopian

In the year 2044, reality is an ugly place. The only time teenage Wade Watts really feels alive is when he’s jacked into the virtual utopia known as the  OASIS. Wade’s devoted his life to studying the puzzles hidden within this world’s digital confines, puzzles that are based on their creator’s obsession with the pop culture of decades past and that promise massive power and fortune to whoever can unlock them. When Wade stumbles upon the first clue, he finds himself beset by players willing to kill to take this ultimate prize. The race is on, and if Wade’s going to survive, he’ll have to win—and confront the real world he’s always been so desperate to escape.

I am actually ashamed that this title is still sitting not only on my TBR but my actual bookshelf! It was gifted to me a few years ago by a dear friend. I honestly have no good answer as to why I have not picked it up. It certainly has not been for lack of interest. I think I have simply accumulated too much and need to reorganize. Have you read this? I know there is a good chance the answer is yes. So tell me about your personal experience!

    1. Seeing really good things and it sounds fun! I may take a break from these review copies soon and just go for it. I feel really bad that it was a gift and has sat. I am in the middle of adding 3 bookcases though and my room is a mess haha. Soon I hope.

  2. Like you, I own this and don’t have a good answer for not having read it already. If you come up with one, please hook a brother up and let me borrow it 🙂 For those that want to send eCards or gifts, on March 26, RPO will be celebrating(?) a 2nd anniversary on my TBR.

      1. Aw shucks Danielle. You’re embarrassing me in front of all these people 🙂 But it’s what we do. You make me laugh, I make you laugh, then you hug me so tight that I stop breathing 😀 Slacker works for me – it’s what I say for all the other books on my TBR, so it’ll be easy to remember.

  3. Haha, kindred spirits forever ❤ It's on my shelf, I've been dying to read it but I just kept putting it off… Now I have to wait November as it's the title for this month's sci-fi read!

  4. I haven’t read this too! It’s been on my TBR for a long time now though and I do feel a little of excitement still sizzling within me. I do however have Armada by the same author waiting after me. Hopefully I’ll get my hands on a copy of Ready Player One too some day. I have only heard praise for that book! 😛

    1. I definitely plan on picking it up at some point. Although in terms of younger readers, I am told there are a lot of 80s pop culture references so they may not be able to connect with that aspect? I will be happy to let you know, when I pick this up 💕😉
