Sunday Sum~Up

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer that I am linking my Sunday Sum-Ups with. Stop by and say hello!

Here is to hoping each of you have enjoyed a wonderful holiday and weekend. By the time this posts I will be with family celebrating my own. 🍃 Responses and comments will be a bit later in this coming week, but I have managed to schedule several posts. As I imagine is true for many of us, focus will shift this time of year and my online time will be even more limited. I am hopeful my current schedule will allow me to continue posting somewhat regularly. But in the meantime, I continue to keep each of you close in my thoughts and count you among my blessings as we celebrate family and togetherness.

The Wife Between Us
By Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen

A novel of suspense that explores the complexities of marriage and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.

When you read this book, you will make many assumptions.
You will assume you are reading about a jealous wife and her obsession with her replacement.
You will assume you are reading about a woman about to enter a new marriage with the man she loves.
You will assume the first wife was a disaster and that the husband was well rid of her.
You will assume you know the motives, the history, the anatomy of the relationships.
Assume nothing.

What I am listening to:

dreamQuest of the Dreamwalker
By Stacy Bennett
Narrated by Zachary Johnson

A perfect captive, Cara didn’t know her will had been stolen until she escapes with borrowed courage.

Cloistered in the Black Keep with only her father for company, Cara is an unwitting prisoner bound by chains of ignorance and lies rather than iron–until she meets a captured mercenary in her father’s dungeon. He kindles within her a spark of compassion she never knew she had and lends her an unfamiliar strength. But, the mercenary is slated to die, sacrificed to her father’s magic like all the others. Only this time, Cara can’t turn a blind eye. Unable to endure her father’s cruelty any longer, she vows to help the mercenary escape.

Now, as they flee to a world she’s only dreamed of, she finds defiance has a steep price. Her very existence endangers everyone she has come to care about. Who is she that her father refuses to let her go? To uncover the secret of her past, she must unravel the mystery of her dreams and claim the heritage of her own magical blood—before her father claims her as the last sacrifice.

What I am watching this week:

Netflix Original: Stranger Things 2. So I am very late to the game on this one, but you make sacrifices when you have a nonhubs that travels constantly for business. He is worth the wait and apparently so is this second season! Have you watched it?

So how was your week? Did you travel for Thanksgiving or celebrate with family? Maybe you picked a good book or started a new show. Tell me what you have been into or what you are looking forward to!

No book is really worth reading at the age of ten which is

Happy Reading!

  1. I’ve heard wonderful things about The Wife Between Us and I really want to read it.. I think it’s really something for me, don’t you think? How thoughtful to wait to watch Stranger Things 2. I haven’t seen this series but I think it’s too strange for me :-). Happy reading this week Danielle ❤!

    1. The Wife Between Us is definitely a book for you! ❤ It is super good so far. I love the alternating narration.

I am not sure how thoughtful I am by waiting at the moment (he had to head back to Cali and I am growing impatient haha). The things we do for love 😉

  2. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family! ❤
I'm kind of late to the game with Stranger Things too…more late to the game than you 😛 I only started watching the first season this week! I'm going to watch the final two episodes tonight and watching the trailer for Stranger Things 2 has put me in a very difficult situation…I've been trying to convince my boyfriend to watch it so we can watch the second season together when I visit in a couple of weeks, but I'm not sure I can wait that long 😛
    Have a fantastic week!

    1. How have you been?! I have been so far behind and then recently had a tumble so now I am even further behind ❤ Are you enjoying Stranger Things a lot? I love it, but I am an 80s child so it holds a lot of nostalgia for myself. Don't you think the cast is incredible?!

  3. Happy holidays to you and hope you had a great Thanksgiving with family. The Wife Between Us sounds fabulous and twisty, love books like that. May have to add it!

Hope you’re loving Stranger Things 2, I thought it was great!

    1. I am enjoying both Stranger Things 2 (on hold as nonhubs was called back to Cali) and The Wife Between Us. Of course with the book, a lot will hinge on the ending as is always the case with mystery/thrillers 😉 I hope you are doing well my friend. You were missed and have been in my thoughts!

    1. I am only 3 in so far. He was called back to Cali so it is on hold again. That is the downside to watching the good shows together 😉 Forgive me for responding so late, I wasn’t able to be online. Hope the week is treating you well!

  4. I am jealous of your ability to post ahead. I manage it occasionally but not as much as I should. I thought finishing full time work would give me more time but I’m not sure where it goes! Hope you have a nice time with your family and a good week x
