Sunday Sum~Up

Sunday Sum_Up (1)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer that I am linking my Sunday Sum-Ups with. Stop by and say hello!

Very steady week here as work has been busy, and I have managed to accomplish a lot that needed to be. I have not started any new projects outside of the newsletter at this time, but still have some on the back burner and a full schedule over the next few months. I want to thank everyone who took time to sign up for the newsletter and send feedback. It is greatly appreciated!

Outside of keeping busy, I am just plucking away and a bit quiet on social media as some may have noticed. I have been taking a bit of personal time, as I am admittedly battling a slightly negative headspace at the moment that I do not want to project onto others. Try as I do, I am not always able to shrug off my burdens. So at the moment I have found it best to remove myself and allow for some therapuetic, down time. Thank you to all who have messaged, shared and commented. I will do my best to pull myself together this coming week πŸ’•

Giveaway Winner

Congratulations to Emily @ReachingWhileRooted for winning a copy of The Shadow Girl by Misty Mount in last week’s giveaway!

What I am listening to this week:

Game Of Thrones Season 1 & 2 Soundtrack

Not a whole lot. Cluster headaches have made some of my usual podcasts and audiobooks a bit challenging to focus on this past week. So I have pretty much kept my GoT soundtracks (season 1 & 2) on repeat on vinyl. Just mindless, goodness. I love this show’s score!

What I am watching:

Penny Dreadful: Season 3

Sadly, my time with this series is coming to a conclusion and I am honestly bummed! While the beginning of season 2 had me doubting, it quickly redeemed itself and has only gotten better. I may pick this up on Blu-Ray. I am hooked!

I hope those of you who have been unwell are finally on the mend. These viruses and the flu seem to be effecting so many of you. May your next week bring plenty of good reads, good company and happiness.

  1. I should listen to the GoT soundtracks, now that I have my new speakers. It would sound so good with them! And I’m glad you’re loving Penny Dreadful! It got better and better with the rewatching for me, since I wasn’t trying to figure out what was going on. On later watchings, I could appreicate the script and everything else all the more!

    1. I plan on picking up the bluray set, as I know I will rewatch. I loved it! And to think it sat in my queue forever until you mentioned being a fan!

About your speakers, are they for pc specifically? I am looking to pick up some Bose to add to his tv for him.. so just curious. I have been eyeballing a few options.

  2. Robots and fairies? Sounds like an interesting combination. I will have to look that one up on Goodreads. I hope you start feeling better soon and you’re able to lift your spirits.

  3. Ugh, what a lovely quote. I love Oscar Wilde, and The Picture of Dorian Grey in particular πŸ™‚ I just finished another VanderMeer book, Annihilation, and should have a copy of The Strange Bird to review soon, but I hadn’t heard of Monsters yet! That cover *is* gorgeous and I’m partial to his writing style, even when it runs a little long, so that was an easy add to my TBR πŸ™‚

Sending lots of good thoughts your way! β™₯

    1. Yes ❀ Thank you. I am getting there. The nearly two weeks of being unplugged forced me to rest, so it was worth it. Just overwhelming when you come back and have to catch up. But with what a rough start you had this year, I know you get it! I am on the mend though. Mentally and physically – xx

  4. I hope you are having a better week this week! My daughter just tested positive for strep AND has a viral throat infection… AND we leave for vacation on Friday lol Keep your fingers crossed this will miss the rest of us.

Have you read the Game of Thrones books? I’m super intimidated by that series… its on my bucket list. I may wait until George finishes the series lol

    1. I hope your daughter is better by now! That is terrible. I was down and out for two solid weeks, so I feel for her.

I have read all of GoT. I binged the series over three weeks. They are daunting in size, but so good that they end up being such an easier read than expected. One of my all time favorites. Recommend you go for it ❀ Hope vacation is going well!

  5. Wow, the notification for this just showed up in my inbox! Five days later. πŸ˜’

I’ll be dropping back around for your mini-reviews, and trying to find the post about the newsletter that I had no clue about. I hope you had a decent week. πŸ’œ

    1. Haha thanks! I believe I just mentioned the newsletter in my last Sunday Sum-up. I am so far behind. I was offline nearly two weeks thanks to this virus 😦 I am still dealing with chills and aches. I was going to try to catch up on the blog posts I missed, but I think I may have to throw in the towel and just start fresh. The list is too long. I hate when this happens.. le sigh.

      1. I am still feeling the fatigue, it hangs on forever! Get as much rest as you can. My problem has been every time I have the flu and I take cold medicine I read blog posts and either forget to comment, or I make these weird almost nonsensical comments. I am always worried people are thinking that I have been drinking. πŸ˜‚
