The Netgalley Book Tag

I have decided to take a break from discussion posts this week. So why not catch up on a tag or two?!

Rules

  • Link back to the tag’s creator: Kourtni at Kourtni Reads
  • Thank and link back to the person who tagged you: Melanie @ Mel To The Any (she is amazing so go check her out if you have not ❤ ).
  • Answer the questions the best you can. If you don’t use NetGalley, you can substitute other sites or places where you get books!
  • Tag a few people to do this too!

AUTO-APPROVED: WHO’S ONE AUTHOR WHOSE BOOKS YOU AUTOMATICALLY WANT TO READ, REGARDLESS OF WHAT THEY ARE ABOUT?

While I have only read the first two books in her Winternight Trilogy, I am convinced that Katherine Arden can do no wrong by me. I would pick up any book she released without hesitation.

REQUEST: WHAT MAKES YOU WANT TO REQUEST A BOOK ON NETGALLEY?

For me it is always authors I have been watching or had success with. I do admit to being drawn to covers. However, I am not a cover buyer so to speak. At that point a blurb has to seal the deal 😉 Such was the case with Jennifer Hillier’s Jar of Hearts.

FEEDBACK RATIO: DO YOU REVIEW EVERY BOOK YOU READ? IF NOT, HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHAT BOOKS TO REVIEW?

My current ratio is 86%. I do review every title I receive except for those I do not finish. My policy on DNFs is to send private publisher feedback. I do not review them. I think I have only DNF’d 3 titles since I joined NetGalley.

BADGES: IF YOU COULD CREATE ONE BADGE TO DISPLAY ON YOUR BLOG, WHAT WOULD IT BE FOR?

I think it would be great to have a badge that accurately reflected my diverse and eclectic reading. Something that informed publishers of not only my willingness but desire to read a variety of content and support and promote it within the reading community.

WISH FOR IT: WHAT’S ONE BOOK THAT YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY DYING TO READ?

Again with Katherin Arden 😉 I NEED to finish the Winternight Trilogy. I will be begging and pleading for The Winter of the Witch endlessly without shame very soon!

2018 NETGALLEY CHALLENGE: WHAT WAS THE LAST BOOK THAT YOU RECEIVED AS AN ARC THAT YOU REVIEWED? IF YOU’VE NEVER RECEIVED AN ARC, WHAT’S THE LAST BOOK YOU REVIEWED?

  1. I would love to have the badge you described as well! And one of the reasons I haven’t started The Bear And The Nightingale yet is that I don’t want to torture myself with the wait for the sequel. 😉

  2. This is a super fun tag! How have I never seen it before?! I must do more blog hopping. For sure.

Congrats on your 86% feedback ratio! I have an upcoming discussion post about reviewing or not reviewing all NetGalley ARCs. I am stuck in a quandary… Does one review all books or not? I like your philosophy– DNFs get no reviews, only publisher feedback. Nice.

    1. I have only DNFd 3 Netgalley titles I think, but always just pub feedback for me. I feel like I need to make it pretty far in a book to give a constructive review, and I am not able to that with DNFs. Don’t be too impressed with my ratio haha. My request number is much lower than most 😉
