Sentranced Saturday

sentranced (adj.): the state of being captivated by a well-written sentence.

Sentranced Saturday is a weekly meme created Kaleena @Reader Voracious that encourages you to share a quote that left you entranced. It makes you think. She has a little notebook that she carries with her everywhere to write down quotes that inspire her in some way, and she is sure that she is not alone! Sentranced Saturday

“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.”
~ Lucille Ball

I chose to share this quote this week because it resonates so soundly with me and the journey I have faced these last few years. I could tell you how difficult chronic illness has been and that it has nearly destroyed my at times to face this new body that never seems to do what I want it to or what I need it to. But I can also tell you that as a result of these hurdles I have learned unrelenting patience and acceptance. I know now that I must love myself for who I am and who I have become, not who I was. In doing so I not only allow my own peace and progress, but I offer it to those around me in the form of strength an happiness. It is through embracing my own self-worth that I have accomplished a life full of love. I wish this and so much more for each of you!

  1. Such a lovely quote. I agree with your thoughts, my favourite Brene Brown once said that our capacity to love others is the same as the capacity to love ourselves. If we can’t love ourselves, we don’t give others the full capacity of our love. Something that made my cry at the time I was reading that.

I can only imagine how hard living with a chronic illness must be. We are much more than our bodies despite society claiming sometimes otherwise. 💕💕💕

    1. It is a constant challenge but one that can ultimately strengthen more than weaken. But not without the daily trials and errors. I am continually learning and having to come to terms with some new obstacle be it overcoming it or discovering how to embrace it. I have no doubt he will be all the better for it. And he is in great hands – xx

    1. Danielle ❤ I am not sure inspirational is a word I associate with myself. I have plenty of low moments, but I learn more every day and do believe that I am exactly as I am meant to be. So I try to embrace that and remain aware that my blessing far outnumber my problems ❤

  2. * dapping the tears from the corner of my eyes * That was beautifully put. So meaningful and… just wonderfully emotional. Uplifting, as well. I think it also helps to love yourself better when you know that you are also loved by others. It´s a cycle that should never end. ❤ A great quote from Lucy.

I, unfortunately don´t have a quote that inspires me. I collect quotes that give me excuses to be the misunderstood person I feel I am, though. ❤ ❤ Keep doing Sentranced Saturday! I love this feature.

    1. Aw ❤ I collect various quotes. I do not put them all in one book as Kaleena, although I have a few failed journals haha. I do have random post its with those that motivate me and remind me to stop and be happy taped to my desk and other places 😉 And you are the best kind of person! ❤ It certainly is a cycle.

      1. Stick motivation quotes to a desk- Not a bad idea. ❤ The journals? Same here. I have failed so bad keeping quotes or sayings in a journal. I gave up and only appreciate quotes when I see them. Kaleena is queen for putting all quotes down. Lol. I admire people who do that.

Naaw, ❤ You´re gonna make me cry. Lol. I can assure you, I´m many things but not the best kind of person. ❤ But thank you for your kind words. They go down like butter ❤ ❤
