Lucas Gillette recruited his 18 year old grandson, Mark, to accompany him on a search of a lifetime. His mother, Ruth Hayes, had left her family in Colorado, when she was just a teenager, to live with her grandparents in NY while she finished school, but for some unknown reason, she'd never returned. No one in New York knew of this family connection to Hayes, Colorado until Ruth had finally told her husband, as he lay on his death bed, that she could have family living out West. Although Lucas had tried, he'd learned very little before his mother's death, but he's determined now to find out if there could still be relatives in this small Colorado town. Their summer adventure took them across Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota, and then south in Wyoming, and Colorado until they reached their destination just west of Pueblo, Colorado. Finding relatives was exciting and more wonderful than they'd ever expected. A wedding, a romance for Mark, and many other experiences of fun and surprises filled their days and evenings. The family was united and all was well at the Haven of Rest Ranch.

Denzil Lee, AIA. This book was released on 2021-03-20. A Summer Adventure available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. A Summer Adventure chronicles when the author’s father and uncle spent their summer working on a Wyoming cattle ranch in 1917. The book’s foreword explains how this book came about and the various recollections that together made the story complete. It is a true story of two boys finding a seasonal job, and what they learned and experienced in that summer long ago. Their adventure took place in the last few years of the Wild West. Buffalo Bill (William F. Cody) was still touring the world with his Wild West Show, complete with real Indians, cowboys, and chuck wagons. Meet Denzil Lee & Vahn Clissold, cousins, who grew up in Utah. Both were 19 years old in 1917. “When my dad passed away, I found his version of his summer adventure, but filed it for future use. When my mom passed away, a number of years later, I ran across my uncle’s version of the same summer adventure and he identified the ranch. I found, in an old photo album, photos of that ranch. I thought this would make an interesting book for young readers.”

Three thrilling adventures featuring the indomitable cousins Dinu, Minu, Polly and Ravi When Ravi comes from Bombay to stay with his three cousins for the summer holidays, little does he realize this is the beginning of a series of exciting events that will test their intelligence and luck. In the first story a string of audacious robberies occur in their usually quiet town. Who is the thief? Is it the sinister Dhondu who seems to hate the children, or is he covering up for someone else? In The Hidden Treasure the four cousins end up spending their Diwali holiday in Kaka's farm in a village. Village life is fun, especially with their broken-down ancestral mansion to explore. Gradually the children realize there is something sinister afoot. Who has been digging away in the mansion in the dead of night? Did their ancestor really bury his life's savings in their sprawling ancestral home before joining the 1857 uprising, or is it just a legend? And, if the treasure's still there, will they get to it before the crooks do? In the last novel, it's Dinu, Minu and Polly's turn to visit Bombay and spend the summer with Ravi. There they make new friends, one of whom claims to have seen the face of a bank robber. Soon after, a spate of robberies break out all over Bombay. Is it the same gang at work? Then their friend is kidnapped and the four children find themselves in the midst of a desperate chase . . . Thrilling, funny, and full of memorable characters, these three novels, first published in the 1970s, are sure to captivate a whole new generation of readers. Age group of target audience: 8+
