Excerpt from Annual Report of the Imperial Department of Agriculture: For the Year 1904-05 S this is the first annual report published by the Imperial Depart ment of Agriculture, it includes not only an account of the work of the past year, but a summary of that done since the appointment of the Inspector General in 1901. The first part consists of the Report of the Inspector General, which gives a general account of the Depart ment, a summary of the work done by the members of the scientific staff, an account of the special investigations made by or at the instance of the Imperial Department, a resume of the work of the provincial departments, and finally an outline of the proposals for future expan sion. The remaining parts are the annual reports of the scientific officers of the subordinate branches of the Imperial Department, namely those of the Director of the Pusa Institute, the Agricultural Chemist, the Cryptogamic Botanist and the Government Entomologist. The appendices include accounts of the special investigations of indigo and jute, a summary of the work of the Mysore State Department of Agri culture, and a list of recent publications relating to Indian agriculture.
