Development of Monitoring and Automatic Fault Detection Solutions for Grid-connected Photovoltaic Systems available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. In this Final Thesis work, the development of a new monitoring and automatic fault detection system for grid-connected photovoltaic systems is presented and described in its details. This product has been developed in JavaScript and HTLM protocols and it allow real time an online performance monitoring and comparison together with fault detection and causes diagnosis. The presented solution is focus on the DC side of the PV system and it includes: a simple and effective simulation model (based on the calculation normalized energy yield from the environmental irradiance and the module temperature evolution), a real time monitoring and supervision tool (based on the comparison between simulated and actual power production) and an innovative fault detection system (based on the analysis of the miscellaneous capture losses, the fault signal frequency and two indicators). The two indicators used to distinguish among the most common faults are: the ratio between maximum power point current and the short circuit one, and the ratio between maximum power point voltage and the open circuit one. An intuitive and user friendly visual interface has also been created as an on-line web page to allow the power plant operator an easy and prompt supervision of the behavior of multiple PV plants. The developed solution has been successfully test on an actual grid-connected PV system in real and faulty operation conditions.

Download and read online ebook Modelling Photovoltaic Systems Using PSpice write by Luis Castañer. This book was released on 2003-03-07. Modelling Photovoltaic Systems Using PSpice available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Photovoltaics, the direct conversion of light from the sun into electricity, is an increasingly important means of distributed power generation. The SPICE modelling tool is typically used in the development of electrical and electronic circuits. When applied to the modelling of PV systems it provides a means of understanding and evaluating the performance of solar cells and systems. The majority of books currently on the market are based around discussion of the solar cell as semiconductor devices rather than as a system to be modelled and applied to real-world problems. Castaner and Silvestre provide a comprehensive treatment of PV system technology analysis. Using SPICE, the tool of choice for circuits and electronics designers, this book highlights the increasing importance of modelling techniques in the quantitative analysis of PV systems. This unique treatment presents both students and professional engineers, with the means to understand, evaluate and develop their own PV modules and systems. * Provides a unique, self-contained, guide to the modelling and design of PV systems * Presents a practical, application oriented approach to PV technology, something that is missing from the current literature * Uses the widely known SPICE circuit-modelling tool to analyse and simulate the performance of PV modules for the first time * Written by respected and well-known academics in the field

Data-Driven and Model-Based Methods for Fault Detection and Diagnosis available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Data-Driven and Model-Based Methods for Fault Detection and Diagnosis covers techniques that improve the quality of fault detection and enhance monitoring through chemical and environmental processes. The book provides both the theoretical framework and technical solutions. It starts with a review of relevant literature, proceeds with a detailed description of developed methodologies, and then discusses the results of developed methodologies, and ends with major conclusions reached from the analysis of simulation and experimental studies. The book is an indispensable resource for researchers in academia and industry and practitioners working in chemical and environmental engineering to do their work safely. Outlines latent variable based hypothesis testing fault detection techniques to enhance monitoring processes represented by linear or nonlinear input-space models (such as PCA) or input-output models (such as PLS) Explains multiscale latent variable based hypothesis testing fault detection techniques using multiscale representation to help deal with uncertainty in the data and minimize its effect on fault detection Includes interval PCA (IPCA) and interval PLS (IPLS) fault detection methods to enhance the quality of fault detection Provides model-based detection techniques for the improvement of monitoring processes using state estimation-based fault detection approaches Demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed strategies by conducting simulation and experimental studies on synthetic data
