Velupillai. This book was released on 2000-01-06. Computable Economics available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. In the field of economic analysis, computability in the formation of economic hypotheses is seen as the way forward. In this book, Professor Velupillai implements a theoretical research program along these lines. Choice theory, learning rational expectations equlibria, the persistence of adaptive behaviour, arithmetical games, aspects of production theory, and economic dynamics are given recursion theoretic (i.e. computable) interpretations. These interpretations lead to new kinds of questions being posed by the economic theorist. In particular, recurison theoretic decision problems replace standard optimisation paradigms in economic analysis. Economic theoretic questions, posed recursion-theoretically, lead to answers that are ambiguous: undecidable choices, uncomputable learning processes, and algorithmically unplayable games become standard answers. Professor Velupillai argues that a recursion theoretic formalisation of economic analysisComputable Economicsmakes the subject intrinsically inductive and computational.

When we study socio-economic issues we are actually studying the way our lives are planned. This Handbook targets to re-invent the way we think and deal with challenges in our life journey by re-inventing how our mindsets can visualise complex problems. Patterns of problem structure and its activity profile are shown in relevant to discovering ‘hidden opportunities’ in the socio-economic issues. To re-invent the issues in our life the problem outcome is linked to both the problem scenarios and its visualised stories. Therefore, the dynamics of the socio-economic complex situations are explained based on the different ‘styles of thinking’ not the ‘competency of problem-solving’. The case studies in the handbook show how our social life affects our economic outcomes. Also, all the examples of dealing with problems in different ways pave the way for re-inventing our lives through re-inventing the way we deal with our communities and organisations chronic problems. Dr. Buheji in this first-ever “Handbook of Socio-Economic Problem Solving” shows how we can renew our ‘learning capacity’ and to extract factors that influence the problem outcome to come with “High” ‘multiplying effect’ model solutions. The diversified problem-solving techniques help the reader to build socio-economic perspectives. The reader would be challenged to explore the mindset of managing life frustrations that would make us create proper community solutions through visualising improved situations, inspiring change and creating meaningful wealth in our life journey. The book shows the link between the learning by involvement and learning by experience that lead to life breakthroughs. It is a personal challenge; so can you take it?

The Information and Communication Technology revolution results in profound changes to the heart of business and economics. Changes in the workplace, new communication technology, new organizational structures, and new production technologies force business educators to renew their focus on the curricula of business schools. There is no doubt these changes influence business education and instructional technology. But change will go far beyond the mere introduction of technology in the classroom. Alliances between the corporate world and business education are no longer fictitious but are necessary to establish stronger bonds between educational systems and the workplace. The fifth volume in the series Educational Innovation in Economics and Business contains a unique selection of articles addressing various issues on how business education should adapt to changing needs of the corporate world. It is meant for educators in corporate training centers, and for teachers in further and higher education.
