THE LACK of transfiguration in low-impact African academia with regards to cultivated and insensate academics is largely accountable for Africa’s incapacity to reinvent, transform, and redeem the material condition of the African people. Although this project is essentially a tale of woe regarding the largely unresponsive African academia, it is also methodical in its orientation in a measure to divulge the sub rosa and hegemonic regimes which preclude objective rationality in African intellectualism. Transfiguration is a prerequisite to transformation. The conceptual idea is that responsiveness and transformation are essentially about the pursuit of relative gains. In Africa, transformation can only be achieved when African people start observing Africa through African lenses. This project is intended for researchers and students of Africa as they would be introduced to introspective intuition as a fundamental framework for societal remediation.

A Fatherland wherein peace is taken for granted would be headed for rack and ruin. In the fullness of time, this Fatherland will morph into a politically embattled nation wherein psychologically distressed compatriots would liquidate each other across an incensed and sociologically shattered society. Garrison Metropolis casts light on the adaptive rehabilitation of this embattled universe through a regenerative doctrine of military intervention which has been christened “Pure militarism”. This involves the enlistment of “reformed Soldiers” as part of a measured campaign against fratricidal bloodletting. This campaign will keenly address the full depth of a culture of vileness in connection with adulteration and weaponized entrapment in a dystopian setting.

They care for one another, compete for resources, and mate. Within a society, social relationships may be simple or complex and usually vary considerably, both between different groups of individuals and over time. These social systems are fundamental to biological organization, and animal societies are central to studies of behavioral and evolutionary biology. But how do we study animal societies? How do we take observations of animals fighting, grooming, or forming groups and produce a realistic description or model of their societies? Analyzing Animal Societies presents a conceptual framework for analyzing social behavior and demonstrates how to put this framework into practice by collecting suitable data on the interactions and associations of individuals so that relationships can be described, and, from these, models can be derived. In addition to presenting the tools, Hal Whitehead illustrates their applicability using a wide range of real data on a variety of animal species-from bats and chimps to dolphins and birds. The techniques that Whitehead describes will be profitably adopted by scientists working with primates, cetaceans, birds, and ungulates, but the tools can be used to study societies of invertebrates, amphibians, and even humans. Analyzing Animal Societies will become a standard reference for those studying vertebrate social behavior and will give to these studies the kind of quality standard already in use in other areas of the life sciences.

There was a time when "American popular entertainment" referred only to radio and motion pictures. With the coming of talking pictures, Hollywood cashed in on the success of big-time network radio by bringing several of the public's favorite broadcast personalities and programs to the screen. The results, though occasionally successful, often proved conclusively that some things are better heard than seen. Concentrating primarily on radio's Golden Age (1926-1962), this lively history discusses the cinematic efforts of airwave stars Rudy Vallee, Amos 'n' Andy, Fred Allen, Joe Penner, Fibber McGee & Molly, Edgar Bergen, Lum & Abner, and many more. Also analyzed are the movie versions of such radio series as The Shadow, Dr. Christian and The Life of Riley. In addition, two recent films starring contemporary radio headliners Howard Stern and Garrison Keillor are given their due.
