Mathison. This book was released on 2002. Given for You available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Is the Lord's Supper, a time of communion with our Lord and with his people, a high point in our lives? What thought do we give to biblical teaching on this sacrament? In Given for You Keith Mathison seeks to encourage prayerful reflection and discussion about this now neglected sacrament. He introduces, explains, and defends a particular understanding of the Lord's Supper--a Reformed understanding...The doctrine of the Lord's Supper presented and defended by John Calvin is the biblical doctrine, the basic doctrine of the sixteenth-century Reformed churches, and the doctrine that should be proclaimed in Reformed churches today. In a final chapter on practical issues, Mathison addresses the frequency of communion, the elements to be used, and the practice of paedo-communion.

The Eucharist originated at the Last Supper of Jesus with his disciples. It is based on the prayer of thanksgiving that Jesus pronounced over the bread and wine at that meal. “Eucharist” means “thanksgiving”, “praise”, and “blessing”. The Church celebrates the Eucharist as a memorial of the death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is more than a remembrance of the Last Supper of Jesus with his disciples. In the Eucharist the sacrifice of our redemption becomes present sacramentally. In the past, dogmatic theology has treated the meaning of the Eucharist while disregarding the form of its liturgical celebration, whereas liturgical studies have been content with only the latter. Yet the two cannot be separated, any more than liturgy and dogma or pastoral practice and doctrine can be understood without the other. The Church’s liturgy is not something external to Christian revelation, but rather, as Joseph Ratzinger said, “revelation accepted in faith and prayer”. In this work Helmut Hoping combines the approaches of dogmatic theology and liturgy while examining the Eucharist from a historical and systematic perspective. This new English translation of the second German edition of this major work, revised and expanded, includes a comparative analysis of the Second Eucharistic Prayer and a chapter on the theology of the words of institution.

Download and read online ebook Your Time Is Now write by Jonathan Evans. This book was released on 2021-06-08. Your Time Is Now available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. God has a purpose for you right now. You may think you're not ready to make a difference in God's Kingdom or that you're too young for others to take seriously. But that's not what God thinks. At some point, you have to understand your own purpose and significance in the kingdom of God. How does God want to use you? This book uses the Old Testament leader Joshua as a model for stepping up to God's big calling. Before Joshua, Moses was the one who had spoken to God, performed miracles, and challenged Pharaoh. But at some point, Joshua had to come out to the front. So what did he do? How did he step up? And what steps can you take to seize "now" for yourself? Now is your time. If you will be steadfast and unmovable, and always abound in what God is calling you to do, you'll see that it will not be in vain. He has a plan, a destiny for your life. Now means "not later." Now means "don't wait." God wants to do great things.
