Download and read online ebook Numerical and Symbolic Scientific Computing write by Ulrich Langer. This book was released on 2011-11-19. Numerical and Symbolic Scientific Computing available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. The book presents the state of the art and results and also includes articles pointing to future developments. Most of the articles center around the theme of linear partial differential equations. Major aspects are fast solvers in elastoplasticity, symbolic analysis for boundary problems, symbolic treatment of operators, computer algebra, and finite element methods, a symbolic approach to finite difference schemes, cylindrical algebraic decomposition and local Fourier analysis, and white noise analysis for stochastic partial differential equations. Further numerical-symbolic topics range from applied and computational geometry to computer algebra methods used for total variation energy minimization.

Algebraic and Symbolic Computation Methods in Dynamical Systems available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. This book aims at reviewing recent progress in the direction of algebraic and symbolic computation methods for functional systems, e.g. ODE systems, differential time-delay equations, difference equations and integro-differential equations. In the nineties, modern algebraic theories were introduced in mathematical systems theory and in control theory. Combined with real algebraic geometry, which was previously introduced in control theory, the past years have seen a flourishing development of algebraic methods in control theory. One of the strengths of algebraic methods lies in their close connections to computations. The use of the above-mentioned algebraic theories in control theory has been an important source of motivation to develop effective versions of these theories (when possible). With the development of computer algebra and computer algebra systems, symbolic methods for control theory have been developed over the past years. The goal of this book is to propose a partial state of the art in this direction. To make recent results more easily accessible to a large audience, the chapters include materials which survey the main mathematical methods and results and which are illustrated with explicit examples.

An Introduction to Grobner Bases - read free eBook in online reader or directly download on the web page. Select files or add your book in reader. Download and read online ebook An Introduction to Grobner Bases write by William W. Adams and Philippe Loustaunau. This book was released on 1994-07-21. An Introduction to Grobner Bases available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. A very carefully crafted introduction to the theory and some of the applications of Grobner bases ... contains a wealth of illustrative examples and a wide variety of useful exercises, the discussion is everywhere well-motivated, and further developments and important issues are well sign-posted ... has many solid virtues and is an ideal text for beginners in the subject ... certainly an excellent text. --Bulletin of the London Mathematical Society As the primary tool for doing explicit computations in polynomial rings in many variables, Grobner bases are an important component of all computer algebra systems. They are also important in computational commutative algebra and algebraic geometry. This book provides a leisurely and fairly comprehensive introduction to Grobner bases and their applications. Adams and Loustaunau cover the following topics: the theory and construction of Grobner bases for polynomials with coefficients in a field, applications of Grobner bases to computational problems involving rings of polynomials in many variables, a method for computing syzygy modules and Grobner bases in modules, and the theory of Grobner bases for polynomials with coefficients in rings. With over 120 worked-out examples and 200 exercises, this book is aimed at advanced undergraduate and graduate students. It would be suitable as a supplement to a course in commutative algebra or as a textbook for a course in computer algebra or computational commutative algebra. This book would also be appropriate for students of computer science and engineering who have some acquaintance with modern algebra.
