The terrifying tales contained within this tome certainly do not fit within the realm of the ordinary set of courses. In our previous anthology, Bite-Sized Tales of Terror, we set the table with micro and flash fiction stories, which we established were the hors-d'oeuvres of the literary realm. It Came From the Snack Bar! is an expansion to the menu. We've removed the claustrophobic word count limit and allowed the chefs to have their way in the kitchen. While the stories remain short, none are sweet. Each tale packs its own flavorful punch, ensuring these stories will stay within your mind long after you read them--like the taste of your soul after sampling it at the local greasy spoon. This anthology was born from the success of the Bite-Sized Tales of Terror. Many of the original authors have returned to the kitchen and have once again cooked up some dark delicacies to disturb the heart and soul. Or at least give you a bad case of heartburn. To keep things hot and fresh coming out of the kitchen, we've added new authors into the mix as well. This rogues gallery encompasses the best authors from Reddit's premier horror flash fiction community, /r/ShortScaryStories. These are authors who've proven incredibly capable of crafting some of the most terrifying fiction on the internet. Many have had their work narrated on Parsec Award winning podcasts, have been featured on YouTube channels reaching hundreds of thousands of views, and have had their work turned into short films. These aren't your run-of-the-mill amateur writers; these are some extremely talents folks who've donated their time, effort, and stories to this anthology. Without them, Bite-Sized Tales of Terror and It Came From the Snack Bar wouldn't have been possible. All revenue generated from the sales of eBooks and physical books will be donated to Scares That Care!, an approved 501(c)(3) charity which fights the REAL MONSTERS of childhood illness, burns, and breast cancer by helping families experiencing these extraordinary hardships cope with the financial burden. It's a 100% volunteer charity; meaning all donations are given to those who are in need; no CEO salaries, no overheads. Donations will be made on a monthly basis for one year following the publication date of this collection. All information on the donations, sales numbers, and all other pertinent information will be available at /r/Human_Gravy. Like many hors-d'oeuvres and appetizers, Horror d'Oeuvres: It Came From the Snack Bar! contains a veritable cornucopia of offerings so not all stories will be to taste. You can expect to read stories with a variety of settings, subject matters, and content. Please assume all stories are NSFW (Not Safe for Work) and may or may not contain offensive material. Read at your own discretion. Add salt if necessary.

This book was released on 2003-05-13. Flipped available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. A classic he-said-she-said romantic comedy! This updated anniversary edition offers story-behind-the-story revelations from author Wendelin Van Draanen. The first time she saw him, she flipped. The first time he saw her, he ran. That was the second grade, but not much has changed by the seventh. Juli says: “My Bryce. Still walking around with my first kiss.” He says: “It’s been six years of strategic avoidance and social discomfort.” But in the eighth grade everything gets turned upside down: just as Bryce is thinking that there’s maybe more to Juli than meets the eye, she’s thinking that he’s not quite all he seemed. This is a classic romantic comedy of errors told in alternating chapters by two fresh, funny voices. The updated anniversary edition contains 32 pages of extra backmatter: essays from Wendelin Van Draanen on her sources of inspiration, on the making of the movie of Flipped, on why she’ll never write a sequel, and a selection of the amazing fan mail she’s received. Awards and accolades for Flipped: SLJ Top 100 Children’s Novels of all time IRA-CBC Children’s Choice IRA Teacher’s Choice Honor winner, Judy Lopez Memorial Award/WNBA Winner of the California Young Reader Medal “We flipped over this fantastic book, its gutsy girl Juli and its wise, wonderful ending.” — The Chicago Tribune “Van Draanen has another winner in this eighth-grade ‘he-said, she-said’ romance. A fast, funny, egg-cellent winner.” — SLJ, Starred review “With a charismatic leading lady kids will flip over, a compelling dynamic between the two narrators and a resonant ending, this novel is a great deal larger than the sum of its parts.” —Publishers Weekly, Starred review
