Human-Computer Interaction. User Interface Design, Development and Multimodality available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. The two-volume set LNCS 10271 and 10272 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 19th International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction, HCII 2017, held in Vancouver, BC, Canada, in July 2017. The total of 1228 papers presented at the 15 colocated HCII 2017 conferences was carefully reviewed and selected from 4340 submissions. The papers address the latest research and development efforts and highlight the human aspects of design and use of computing systems. They cover the entire field of Human-Computer Interaction, addressing major advances in knowledge and effective use of computers in a variety of application areas. The papers included in this volume cover the following topics: HCI theory and education; HCI, innovation and technology acceptance; interaction design and evaluation methods; user interface development; methods, tools, and architectures; multimodal interaction; and emotions in HCI.

Download and read online ebook Human-Computer Interaction write by Gerard Jounghyun Kim. This book was released on 2015-03-20. Human-Computer Interaction available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Although life continues to become increasingly embedded with interactive computing services that make our lives easier, human-computer interaction (HCI) has not been given the attention it deserves in the education of software developers at the undergraduate level. Most entry-level HCI textbooks are structured around high-level concepts and are not directly tied to the software development process. Filling this need, Human-Computer Interaction: Fundamentals and Practice supplies an accessible introduction to the entire cycle of HCI design and implementation-explaining the core HCI concepts behind each step. Designed around the overall development cycle for an interactive software product, it starts off by covering the fundamentals behind HCI. The text then quickly goes into the application of this knowledge. It covers the forming of HCI requirements, modeling the interaction process, designing the interface, implementing the resulting design, and evaluating the implemented product. Although this textbook is suitable for undergraduate students of computer science and information technology, it is accessible enough to be understood by those with minimal programming knowledge. Supplying readers with a firm foundation in the main HCI principles, the book provides a working knowledge of HCI-oriented software development. The core content of this book is based on the introductory HCI course (advanced junior or senior-level undergraduate) that the author has been teaching at Korea University for the past eight years. The book includes access to PowerPoint lecture slides as well as source code for the example applications used throughout the text.

New Trends on Human-Computer Interaction available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. This book comprises a variety of breakthroughs and recent advances on Human– Computer Interaction (HCI) intended for both researchers and practitioners. Topics addressed here can be of interest for those people searching for last trends involving such a growing discipline. Important issues concerning this book includes cutti- edge topics such as Semantic Web Interfaces, Natural Language Processing and - bile Interaction, as well as new methodological trends such as Interface-Engineering techniques, User-Centred Design, Usability, Accessibility, Development Meth- ologiesandEmotionalUserInterfaces. Theideabehindthisbookistobringtogether relevant and novel research on diverse interaction paradigms. New trends are gu- anteedaccordingtothedemandingclaimsofbothHCIresearchersandpractitioners, which encourage the explicit arrangement of new industrial and technological topics such as the previously cited Interfaces for the Semantic Web, and Mobile Interfaces, but also Multimodal Interaction, Collaborative Interfaces, End-User Development, Usability and User Interface Engineering. Chapters included in this book comprise a selection of top high-quality papers from Interaccion ́ 2007, which is the most important HCI conference sponsored by AIPO (the Spanish HCI Association). Papers were selected from a ranking - tained through double-blind peer review and later meta-review processes, cons- ering the best evaluated paper from both the review and presentation session. Such a paper selection constitutes only 33% of the papers published in the conference proceedings. We would like to thank the reviewers for their effort in revising the chapters included in this publication, namely Silvia T. Acuna, ̃ Sandra Baldasarri, Crescencio Bravo, Cesar A.

Multimodal User Interfaces available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. tionship indicates how multimodal medical image processing can be unified to a large extent, e. g. multi-channel segmentation and image registration, and extend information theoretic registration to other features than image intensities. The framework is not at all restricted to medical images though and this is illustrated by applying it to multimedia sequences as well. In Chapter 4, the main results from the developments in plastic UIs and mul- modal UIs are brought together using a theoretic and conceptual perspective as a unifying approach. It is aimed at defining models useful to support UI plasticity by relying on multimodality, at introducing and discussing basic principles that can drive the development of such UIs, and at describing some techniques as proof-of-concept of the aforementioned models and principles. In Chapter 4, the authors introduce running examples that serve as illustration throughout the d- cussion of the use of multimodality to support plasticity.
