Implementation of Solar Thermal and Photovoltaic Systems available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Humanity's current problems related to global warming and energy sources' security for present and future generations can be solved only by reconsidering our position towards the environment. The profit cannot be measured anymore only in terms of capital gained but also in terms of life quality, proper air we breath or our children's future. Renewable energy sources are meant to help the society to develop, to secure the energy needs and also to preserve a cleaner environment, therefore this work treats the implementation of the solar radiation conversion systems within the built environment, showing the savings obtained through their deployment. The area's solar potential was determined from the daily solar radiation values recorded in a considered region. Out of this potential, I established the solar energy gain of a solar thermal collector and of a photovoltaic module. The region taken into account was the mountainous area of Brasov city. Necessary collectors' and modules' surfaces have been determined, together with the energy and monthly amounts saved after their implementation.

Photovoltaic/Thermal (PV/T) Systems available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. This book provides the most up-to-date information on hybrid solar cell and solar thermal collectors, which are commonly referred to as Photovoltaic/Thermal (PV/T) systems. PV/T systems convert solar radiation into thermal and electrical energy to produce electricity, utilize more of the solar spectrum, and save space by combining the two structures to cover lesser area than two systems separately. Research in this area is growing rapidly and is highlighted within this book. The most current methods and techniques available to aid in overall efficiency, reduce cost and improve modeling and system maintenance are all covered. In-depth chapters present the background and basic principles of the technology along with a detailed review of the most current literature. Moreover, the book details design criteria for PV/T systems including residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Provides an objective and decisive source for the supporters of green and renewable source of energy Discusses and evaluates state-of-the-art PV/T system designs Proposes and recommends potential designs for future research on this topic

Download and read online ebook Concentrating Solar Power Technology write by Keith Lovegrove. This book was released on 2012-10-19. Concentrating Solar Power Technology available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Concentrating solar power (CSP) technology is poised to take its place as one of the major contributors to the future clean energy mix. Using straightforward manufacturing processes, CSP technology capitalises on conventional power generation cycles, whilst cost effectively matching supply and demand though the integration of thermal energy storage. Concentrating solar power technology provides a comprehensive review of this exciting technology, from the fundamental science to systems design, development and applications. Part one introduces fundamental principles of concentrating solar power systems. Site selection and feasibility analysis are discussed, alongside socio-economic and environmental assessments. Part two focuses on technologies including linear Fresnel reflector technology, parabolic-trough, central tower and parabolic dish concentrating solar power systems, and concentrating photovoltaic systems. Thermal energy storage, hybridization with fossil fuel power plants and the long-term market potential of CSP technology are explored. Part three goes on to discuss optimisation, improvements and applications. Topics discussed include absorber materials for solar thermal receivers, design optimisation through integrated techno-economic modelling, heliostat size optimisation, heat flux and temperature measurement technologies, concentrating solar heating and cooling for industrial processes, and solar fuels and industrial solar chemistry. With its distinguished editors and international team of expert contributors, Concentrating solar power technology is an essential guide for all those involved or interested in the design, production, development, optimisation and application of CSP technology, including renewable energy engineers and consultants, environmental governmental departments, solar thermal equipment manufacturers, researchers and academics. Provides a comprehensive review of concentrating solar power (CSP) technology, from the fundamental science to systems design, development and applications Reviews fundamental principles of concentrating solar power systems, including site selection and feasibility analysis and socio-economic and environmental assessments Provides an overview of technologies such as linear Fresnel reflector technology, parabolic-trough, central tower and parabolic dish concentrating solar power systems, and concentrating photovoltaic systems
