Mathematical Modeling of Protein Complexes available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. This book is devoted to the physical and mathematical modeling of the formation of complexes of protein molecules. The models developed show remarkable sensitivity to the amino acid sequences of proteins, which facilitates experimental studies and allows one to reduce the associated costs by reducing the number of measurements required according to the developed criteria. These models make it possible to reach a conclusion about the interactions between different amino acid chains and to identify more stable sites on proteins. The models also take the phosphorylation of amino acid residues into account. At the end of the book, the authors present possible directions of application of their physical and mathematical models in clinical medicine.

Download and read online ebook Protein-protein Complexes write by Martin Zacharias. This book was released on 2010. Protein-protein Complexes available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Given the immense progress achieved in elucidating protein-protein complex structures and in the field of protein interaction modeling, there is great demand for a book that gives interested researchers/students a comprehensive overview of the field. This book does just that. It focuses on what can be learned about protein-protein interactions from the analysis of protein-protein complex structures and interfaces. What are the driving forces for protein-protein association? How can we extract the mechanism of specific recognition from studying protein-protein interfaces? How can this knowledge be used to predict and design protein-protein interactions (interaction regions and complex structures)? What methods are currently employed to design protein-protein interactions, and how can we influence protein-protein interactions by mutagenesis and small-molecule drugs or peptide mimetics? The book consists of about 15 review chapters, written by experts, on the characterization of protein-protein interfaces, structure determination of protein complexes (by NMR and X-ray), theory of protein-protein binding, dynamics of protein interfaces, bioinformatics methods to predict interaction regions, and prediction of protein-protein complex structures (docking and homology modeling of complexes, etc.) and design of protein-protein interactions. It serves as a bridge between studying/analyzing protein-protein complex structures (interfaces), predicting interactions, and influencing/designing interactions.

Download and read online ebook Mathematical Models in Biology write by Valeria Zazzu. This book was released on 2015-11-26. Mathematical Models in Biology available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. This book presents an exciting collection of contributions based on the workshop “Bringing Maths to Life” held October 27-29, 2014 in Naples, Italy. The state-of-the art research in biology and the statistical and analytical challenges facing huge masses of data collection are treated in this Work. Specific topics explored in depth surround the sessions and special invited sessions of the workshop and include genetic variability via differential expression, molecular dynamics and modeling, complex biological systems viewed from quantitative models, and microscopy images processing, to name several. In depth discussions of the mathematical analysis required to extract insights from complex bodies of biological datasets, to aid development in the field novel algorithms, methods and software tools for genetic variability, molecular dynamics, and complex biological systems are presented in this book. Researchers and graduate students in biology, life science, and mathematics/statistics will find the content useful as it addresses existing challenges in identifying the gaps between mathematical modeling and biological research. The shared solutions will aid and promote further collaboration between life sciences and mathematics.
