The species of primary concern are bluefin tuna and swordfish. The meeting includes a summary of major Large Pelagics Program research projects (bluefin tagging, mid-Atlantic bluefin research, incidental catch of sea birds, swordfish conversion factors, and harpoon log & effort calculation) and reviews of catch (discard) and catch per unit effort information which was to be contributed to the ICCAT bluefin tuna assessment.
