Download and read online ebook Particles in Flows write by Tomáš Bodnár. This book was released on 2017-09-30. Particles in Flows available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. This book aims to face particles in flows from many different, but essentially interconnected sides and points of view. Thus the selection of authors and topics represented in the chapters, ranges from deep mathematical analysis of the associated models, through the techniques of their numerical solution, towards real applications and physical implications. The scope and structure of the book as well as the selection of authors was motivated by the very successful summer course and workshop "Particles in Flows'' that was held in Prague in the August of 2014. This meeting revealed the need for a book dealing with this specific and challenging multidisciplinary subject, i.e. particles in industrial, environmental and biomedical flows and the combination of fluid mechanics, solid body mechanics with various aspects of specific applications.

Download and read online ebook Multiphase Flows with Droplets and Particles, Second Edition write by Clayton T. Crowe. This book was released on 2011-08-26. Multiphase Flows with Droplets and Particles, Second Edition available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Since the publication of the first edition of Multiphase Flow with Droplets and Particles, there have been significant advances in science and engineering applications of multiphase fluid flow. Maintaining the pedagogical approach that made the first edition so popular, this second edition provides a background in this important area of fluid mechanics to those new to the field and a resource to those actively involved in the design and development of multiphase systems. See what’s new in the Second Edition: Chapter on the latest developments in carrier-phase turbulence Extended chapter on numerical modeling that includes new formulations for turbulence and Reynolds stress models Review of the fundamental equations and the validity of the traditional "two-fluid" approach Expanded exercises and a solutions manual A quick look at the table of contents supplies a snapshot of the breadth and depth of coverage found in this completely revised and updated text. Suitable for a first-year graduate (5th year) course as well as a reference for engineers and scientists, the book is clearly written and provides an essential presentation of key topics in the study of gas-particle and gas-droplet flows.

Download and read online ebook Collective Dynamics of Particles write by Cristian Marchioli. This book was released on 2017-02-21. Collective Dynamics of Particles available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. The book surveys the state-of-the-art methods that are currently available to model and simulate the presence of rigid particles in a fluid flow. For particles that are very small relative to the characteristic flow scales and move without interaction with other particles, effective equations of motion for particle tracking are formulated and applied (e.g. in gas-solid flows). For larger particles, for particles in liquid-solid flows and for particles that interact with each other or possibly modify the overall flow detailed model are presented. Special attention is given to the description of the approximate force coupling method (FCM) as a more general treatment for small particles, and derivations in the context of low Reynolds numbers for the particle motion as well as application at finite Reynolds numbers are provided. Other topics discussed in the book are the relation to higher resolution immersed boundary methods, possible extensions to non-spherical particles and examples of applications of such methods to dispersed multiphase flows.

Fundamentals of Gas Particle Flow - read free eBook in online reader or directly download on the web page. Select files or add your book in reader. Download and read online ebook Fundamentals of Gas Particle Flow write by G Rudinger. This book was released on 2012-12-02. Fundamentals of Gas Particle Flow available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Fundamentals of Gas-Particle Flow is an edited, updated, and expanded version of a number of lectures presented on the “Gas-Solid Suspensions course organized by the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics. Materials presented in this book are mostly analytical in nature, but some experimental techniques are included. The book focuses on relaxation processes, including the viscous drag of single particles, drag in gas-particles flow, gas-particle heat transfer, equilibrium, and frozen flow. It also discusses the dynamics of single particles, such as particles in an arbitrary flow, in a rotating gas, in a Prandtl-Meyer expansion, and in an oscillating flow. The remaining chapters of the book deal with the thermodynamics of gas-particle mixtures, steady flow through ducts, pressure waves, gas-particle jets, boundary layer, and momentum transfer. The experimental techniques included in this book present the powder feeders, the instrumentation on particle flow rate, velocity, concentration and temperature, and the measurement of the particle drag coefficient in a shock tube.
