Public Transport Passengers’ Behavioural Intentions available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. This book is based on the behavioural intention of public transport passengers and the relationship between those factors in Indonesia. The conceptual model in this book explains behavioural intentions of paratransit passengers which can result in recommendations to unravel the complexity of the congestion problem from consumer behaviour perspective. Based on the results of survey research on behavioural intention of public transport users in Jabodetabek, Indonesia, the result of the study is presented in a model that describes the factors that influence. This book is recommended for academics who wish to gain knowledge about the phenomenon of consumer behaviour, for regulators whose duty is to make a decision and determine the strategic steps to overcome congestion and researchers who want to develop their knowledge and provide solutions related to congestion from the perspective of consumer behaviour.

This book was released on 2016-02-03. Modelling Public Transport Passenger Flows in the Era of Intelligent Transport Systems available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. This book shows how transit assignment models can be used to describe and predict the patterns of network patronage in public transport systems. It provides a fundamental technical tool that can be employed in the process of designing, implementing and evaluating measures and/or policies to improve the current state of transport systems within given financial, technical and social constraints. The book offers a unique methodological contribution to the field of transit assignment because, moving beyond “traditional” models, it describes more evolved variants that can reproduce:• intermodal networks with high- and low-frequency services;• realistic behavioural hypotheses underpinning route choice;• time dependency in frequency-based models; and• assumptions about the knowledge that users have of network conditionsthat are consistent with the present and future level of information that intelligent transport systems (ITS) can provide. The book also considers the practical perspective of practitioners and public transport operators who need to model and manage transit systems; for example, the role of ITS is explained with regard to their potential in data collection for modelling purposes and validation techniques, as well as with regard to the additional data on network patronage and passengers’ preferences that influences the network-management and control strategies implemented. In addition, it explains how the different aspects of network operations can be incorporated in traditional models and identifies the advantages and disadvantages of doing so. Lastly, the book provides practical information on state-of-the-art implementations of the different models and the commercial packages that are currently available for transit modelling. Showcasing original work done under the aegis of the COST Action TU1004 (TransITS), the book provides a broad readership, ranging from Master and PhD students to researchers and from policy makers to practitioners, with a comprehensive tool for understanding transit assignment models.

Download and read online ebook Public Transportation Quality of Service write by Luigi Dell ́Olio. This book was released on 2017-10-11. Public Transportation Quality of Service available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Public Transportation Quality of Service: Factors, Models, and Applications is the first book to help researchers better understand the contributing factors that can improve public transportation perception among users. The book compiles in one place metrics currently dispersed in journal articles, government publications and book chapters. It critically analyzes currently available modeling methodologies such as the Ordered Logit/Probit model and Models of Structural Equations, highlighting their advantages and disadvantages. The book addresses models of desired quality, including the views of users and non-users, discussing the gap between desired and perceived quality. The book also examines data mining approaches such as decision trees and neural networks, showing how to involve the public in the decision-making process to create policies that encourage public transport demand. Measuring passenger’s views on public transportation is of critical concern to promote wider transit use in cities around the world. Includes insights from both theoretical and practical points of view for both researchers and practitioners Features case studies in each chapter that apply models discussed Helps readers develop and design their own studies for measuring quality of service Shows how to include perceived quality in contracts Provides access to the survey formulas and data to better enable implementation of models

This book was released on 2020-05-27. Proceedings of the 2018 Conference of the Computational Social Science Society of the Americas available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. This book contains a selection of the latest research in the field of Computational Social Science (CSS) methods, uses, and results, as presented at the 2018 annual conference of the CSSSA. This conference was held in Santa Fe, New Mexico, October 25 – 28, 2018, at the Drury Plaza Hotel. CSS investigates social and behavioral dynamics in both nature and society, through computer simulation, network analysis, and the science of complex systems. The Computational Social Science Society of the Americas (CSSSA) is a professional society that aims to advance the field of CSS in all its areas, from fundamental principles to real-world applications, by holding conferences and workshops, promoting standards of scientific excellence in research and teaching, and publishing novel research findings. What follows is a diverse representation of new approaches and research findings, using the tools of CSS and Agent-Based Modeling (ABM) in exploring complex phenomena across many different domains. Readers will not only have the methods and results of these specific projects on which to build, but will also gain a greater appreciation for the broad scope of CSS, and have a wealth of case-study examples that can serve as meaningful exemplars for new research projects and activities. This book, we hope, will appeal to any researchers and students working in the social sciences, broadly defined, who aim to better understand and apply the concepts of Complex Adaptive Systems to their work.
