Saving H'Non: Chang and the Elephant available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. From the creators behind the Eisner-nominated Saving Sorya: Chang and the Sun Bear comes another gorgeously-illustrated middle grade graphic novel adventure based on a true story, in which a young conservationist overcomes the odds to save and return an elephant to its natural habitat. While volunteering at a wildlife rescue center near Yok Don National Park in Vietnam, Chang—a young, spirited animal lover—helps rescue an injured and abused Asian elephant named H'Non. For decades, H'Non was forced to haul heavy timber logs and concrete poles at construction sites, and then to carry riders at tourist attractions all day long with no break. While nursing H'Non back to health, Chang is tasked with finding a kind mahout—an elephant trainer—who will teach H'Non how to fend for herself in the wild. Though Chang initially has her doubts about Wat, the young mahout she finds, H'Non takes to him instantly. As her friendships with both H'Non and Wat grow, Chang learns what it takes to give people a chance. . . . And that we’re never too young or too old to make a difference in the world around us. This heartfelt story—filled with breathtaking art and STEM facts galore—is for any young reader, animal lover, and intrepid explorer who’s ready for adventure! **FOUR starred reviews!** *“Stirs the mind and heart the way an elephant quakes the earth.”—Kirkus Reviews

This 2015 Article IV Consultation highlights that for the third consecutive year, Benin is expected to reach solid economic growth in 2015 at about 5 percent, despite recent headwinds from the economic slowdown in Nigeria—Benin’s major trading partner. In 2016, increased public investment is expected to keep real GDP growth at about 5.2 percent, with inflation to remain subdued. The medium-term outlook is also positive overall, but subject to significant risks, including a further slowdown in Nigeria and delays of structural reforms that could weaken growth dynamics. Low debt levels help accommodate the government’s ambitious plans to further scale-up investment over the medium term.

Download and read online ebook Non-Aligned Movement Summits write by Jovan Cavoški. This book was released on 2022-05-19. Non-Aligned Movement Summits available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Using newly declassified documents from Serbian, British, Indian, Chinese, Myanmar, U.S., and Soviet archives, Non-Aligned Movement Summits shows how the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) gradually evolved into the third force of Cold War politics, enveloping most of the post-colonial and non-bloc world. Jovan Cavoški follows the evolution of the NAM through its summits and other gatherings, during which major political decisions pertaining to the destiny of the Third World were made. These events were scrutinized by all major powers and had a corresponding effect on their policies. From the Belgrade Conference in 1961 until 1989, all major Third World and non-bloc nations met to demonstrate to the Eastern and Western Blocs that they were independent, active and respected participants in world affairs. Cavoški shows how these summits were also closely related to events occurring in the relationship between the two blocs, providing opportunities for non-bloc actors to influence the global balance of power. By moving the focus of 20th-century international history away from the bloc nations, and instead giving developing nations in Africa and Asia due attention, this book provides a fresh perspective on Cold War history and fills a significant gap in the literature. It is an important study for all students and scholars of the Cold War and international history.
