Download and read online ebook Signals and Systems Laboratory with MATLAB write by Alex Palamides. This book was released on 2010-08-13. Signals and Systems Laboratory with MATLAB available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Developed as a textbook for the laboratory part of the course Signals and Systems, this book introduces students to theory through analytical examples implemented in Matlab code. Thus every theoretical equation is accompanied by the corresponding code implementation. Instead of using big M-Files or author-written functions with comments, the commands are executed one-by-one at the Matlab command line and the results, dong with comments are given side-by side in two or three column tables. This is very helpful and popular to students in Electrical Engineering, since the nature of this course includes detailed mathematical derivations and demands a strong mathematical background.

Download and read online ebook Signals and Systems with MATLAB write by Won Young Yang. This book was released on 2009-06-18. Signals and Systems with MATLAB available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. This book is primarily intended for junior-level students who take the courses on ‘signals and systems’. It may be useful as a reference text for practicing engineers and scientists who want to acquire some of the concepts required for signal proce- ing. The readers are assumed to know the basics about linear algebra, calculus (on complex numbers, differentiation, and integration), differential equations, Laplace R transform, and MATLAB . Some knowledge about circuit systems will be helpful. Knowledge in signals and systems is crucial to students majoring in Electrical Engineering. The main objective of this book is to make the readers prepared for studying advanced subjects on signal processing, communication, and control by covering from the basic concepts of signals and systems to manual-like introduc- R R tions of how to use the MATLAB and Simulink tools for signal analysis and lter design. The features of this book can be summarized as follows: 1. It not only introduces the four Fourier analysis tools, CTFS (continuous-time Fourier series), CTFT (continuous-time Fourier transform), DFT (discrete-time Fourier transform), and DTFS (discrete-time Fourier series), but also illuminates the relationship among them so that the readers can realize why only the DFT of the four tools is used for practical spectral analysis and why/how it differs from the other ones, and further, think about how to reduce the difference to get better information about the spectral characteristics of signals from the DFT analysis.

Download and read online ebook Anywhere-Anytime Signals and Systems Laboratory write by Nasser Kehtarnavaz. This book was released on 2018-11-06. Anywhere-Anytime Signals and Systems Laboratory available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. A typical undergraduate electrical engineering curriculum incorporates a signals and systems course. The widely used approach for the laboratory component of such courses involves the utilization of MATLAB to implement signals and systems concepts. This lecture series book presents a newly developed laboratory paradigm where MATLAB codes are made to run on smartphones, which most students already possess. This smartphone-based approach enables an anywhere-anytime platform for students to conduct signals and systems experiments. This book covers the laboratory experiments that are normally covered in signals and systems courses and discusses how to run MATLAB codes for these experiments on both Android and iOS smartphones, thus enabling a truly mobile laboratory environment for students to learn the implementation aspects of signals and systems concepts. A zipped file of the codes discussed in the book can be acquired via the website.

Download and read online ebook Starting Digital Signal Processing in Telecommunication Engineering write by Tomasz P. Zieliński. This book was released on 2021-01-29. Starting Digital Signal Processing in Telecommunication Engineering available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. This hands-on, laboratory driven textbook helps readers understand principles of digital signal processing (DSP) and basics of software-based digital communication, particularly software-defined networks (SDN) and software-defined radio (SDR). In the book only the most important concepts are presented. Each book chapter is an introduction to computer laboratory and is accompanied by complete laboratory exercises and ready-to-go Matlab programs with figures and comments (available at the book webpage and running also in GNU Octave 5.2 with free software packages), showing all or most details of relevant algorithms. Students are tasked to understand programs, modify them, and apply presented concepts to recorded real RF signal or simulated received signals, with modelled transmission condition and hardware imperfections. Teaching is done by showing examples and their modifications to different real-world telecommunication-like applications. The book consists of three parts: introduction to DSP (spectral analysis and digital filtering), introduction to DSP advanced topics (multi-rate, adaptive, model-based and multimedia - speech, audio, video - signal analysis and processing) and introduction to software-defined modern telecommunication systems (SDR technology, analog and digital modulations, single- and multi-carrier systems, channel estimation and correction as well as synchronization issues). Many real signals are processed in the book, in the first part – mainly speech and audio, while in the second part – mainly RF recordings taken from RTL-SDR USB stick and ADALM-PLUTO module, for example captured IQ data of VOR avionics signal, classical FM radio with RDS, digital DAB/DAB+ radio and 4G-LTE digital telephony. Additionally, modelling and simulation of some transmission scenarios are tested in software in the book, in particular TETRA, ADSL and 5G signals. Provides an introduction to digital signal processing and software-based digital communication; Presents a transition from digital signal processing to software-defined telecommunication; Features a suite of pedagogical materials including a laboratory test-bed and computer exercises/experiments.
