Download and read online ebook Handbook of Targeted Delivery of Imaging Agents write by Vladimir P. Torchilin. This book was released on 1995-08-23. Handbook of Targeted Delivery of Imaging Agents available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. This is the first time detailed and updated information on the targeted delivery of imaging agents has been collected into a single handbook. This comprehensive volume presents the scientific background together with the latest experimental and clinical data in this fast-growing area. The Handbook of Targeted Delivery of Imaging Agents meets the requirements of the broadest audience including researchers, practitioners, and students. The basic principles of targeted delivery of imaging are presented and discussed together with various imaging agents and different imaging modalities such as gamma-imaging, MR-imaging, and CT, PET, and SPECT imaging. The book consists of eight parts and 39 chapters covering all aspects of targeted drug delivery-from the imaging theory and chemistry of imaging agents to their experimental and clinical use for targeted visualization of cancer, including ovarian, prostate, colorectal, and thyroid cancer, cardiovascular (atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, and thromboses) and neurological diseases, infection, and inflammation sites. A special section discusses the targeted delivery of imaging agents into lymph nodes, which are often sites of metasteses during different malignant diseases. Monoclonal antibody-based targeted imaging agents are considered together with new approaches involving the use of labeled micelles, liposomes, and polymer-coated particles. The book describes the possible application of designer antibodies for the delivery of diagnostic agents, including the preparation, properties, labeling, and experimental use of multifunctional antibodies. The alternative improvement of antibody-directed targeting describes the application of avidin-biotin system for the delivery of imaging agents. Long circulating blood pool imaging agents are considered as a special group of organ-specific pharmaceuticals. The latest trends in the synthesis of immunoscintigraphic, MR, and CT agents are presented. This Handbook of Targeted Delivery of Imaging Agents is a must-have reference for all those who need to stay abreast of the latest developments in this hot field.

Download and read online ebook Modular Synthesis of Dual- and Tri-modal Targeted Molecular Imaging Agents write by Nicholas C. Schug. This book was released on 2020. Modular Synthesis of Dual- and Tri-modal Targeted Molecular Imaging Agents available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. "There are few reported methods for combining two or three different imaging dyes, metals, or dye-metal combinations, followed by the conjugation of a disease- targeting group to enable the use a given imaging system for multiple imaging applications. Previously, peptides have been used as scaffolds for dyes and metals used in diagnostic techniques such as optical molecular imaging (OMI), positron emission tomography (PET), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The aim of this project was to reassemble peptide-based imaging agents through a modular method by coupling together modules comprised of amino acids with imaging agents attached to their side chains to form “imaging peptides,” followed by attaching a cancer-targeting group in the final step. This new modular approach for the synthesis of a diverse set of targeted molecular imaging agents (TMIAs) was optimized and exemplified by the synthesis of dual modal PET-MRI, dual OMI-MRI and dual metal (di-gadolinium for MRI), and the partial synthesis of a tri-modal OMI-PET-MRI agent. The dual modal imaging peptides were conjugated through a linker to targeting groups for lung cancer (A549 cells) and prostate cancer (PSMA positive C4-2) cells. In addition to imaging applications for early detection, active surveillance, image guided biopsies and surgery, this modular approach could potentially be used for creating therapeutic agents to treat cancer patients."--Abstract.

Download and read online ebook Molecular Imaging in Oncology write by Otmar Schober. This book was released on 2020-06-27. Molecular Imaging in Oncology available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. This book discusses the most significant recent advances in oncological molecular imaging, covering the full spectrum from basic and preclinical research to clinical practice. The content is divided into five sections, the first of which is devoted to standardized and emerging technologies and probe designs for different modalities, such as PET, SPECT, optical and optoacoustic imaging, ultrasound, CT, and MRI. The second section focuses on multiscale preclinical applications ranging from advanced microscopy and mass spectroscopy to whole-body imaging. In the third section, various clinical applications are presented, including image-guided surgery and the radiomic analysis of multiple imaging features. The final two sections are dedicated to the emerging, crucial role that molecular imaging can play in the planning and monitoring of external and internal radiotherapy, and to future challenges and prospects in multimodality imaging. Given its scope, the handbook will benefit all readers who are interested in the revolution in diagnostic and therapeutic oncology that is now being brought about by molecular imaging.

Molecular imaging is primarily about the chemistry of novelbiological probes, yet the vast majority of practitioners are notchemists or biochemists. This is the first book, written from achemist's point of view, to address the nature of the chemicalinteraction between probe and environment to help elucidatebiochemical detail instead of bulk anatomy. Covers all of the fundamentals of modern imaging methodologies, including their techniques and application within medicine andindustry Focuses primarily on the chemistry of probes and imagingagents, and chemical methodology for labelling andbioconjugation First book to investigate the chemistry of molecularimaging Aimed at students as well as researchers involved in the areaof molecular imaging
