Sporting a proverbial Rotten Tomatoes score of 100 percent, Certified Fresh, The Rock embodies everything we want from our Hollywood superstars...and everything we admire in those who so boldly pursue the American dream. A winning smile? Or his total mastery of Instagram Stories? Composed of five critical essays and fun extras, For Your Consideration: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson looks at the distinct phases of the legend’s career, examining the ways in which he has become both an on-screen heartthrob and an off-screen hero to the millions (AND MILLIONS!) who’ve followed him from the wrestling mat to the silver screen.

This book was released on 2014-03-04. The Rock available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. The Nobel Prize–winning author created the words for this unique play about religion in the twentieth century. The choruses in this pageant play represent a new verse experiment on Mr. Eliot’s part; and taken together make a sequence of verses about twice the length of “The Waste Land.” Mr. Eliot has written the words; the scenario and design of the play were provided by a collaborator, and the purpose was to provide a pageant of the Church of England for presentation on a particular occasion. The action turns upon the efforts and difficulties of a group of London masons in building a church. Incidentally, a number of historical scenes, illustrative of church-building, are introduced. The play, enthusiastically greeted, was first presented in England, at Sadler’s Wells; the production included much pageantry, mimetic action, and ballet, with music by Dr. Martin Shaw. Immediately after the production of this play in England, Francis Birrell wrote in The New Statesman: “The magnificent verse, the crashing Hebraic choruses which Mr. Eliot has written had best be studied in the book. The Rock is certainly one of the most interesting artistic experiments to be given in recent times.” The Times Literary Supplement also spoke with high praise: “The choruses exceed in length any of his previous poetry; and on the stage they prove the most vital part of the performance. They combine the sweep of psalmody with the exact employment of colloquial words. They are lightly written, as though whispered to the paper, yet are forcible to enunciate . . . . There is exhibited here a command of novel and musical dramatic speech which, considered alone, is an exceptional achievement.”

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson: The People's Champion charts the career of ten-time WWF/WWE/WCW Champion and movie megastar Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in-depth for the very first time. The People's Champion is the story of Dwayne Johnson's rise from troubled child to wrestling superstar to one of the most in-demand actors in Hollywood, with all the highs, lows and controversies in between. Along with Stone Cold Steve Austin, Vince McMahon and the concept of "Attitude", the emergence of The Rock was instrumental in turning the languishing World Wrestling Federation, on the brink of downsizing, into a billion dollar entity within two years. With The Rock at the forefront, the WWF routinely broke viewership, box office and ticket sales records. In 2000, The Rock became the most well-known mainstream professional wrestler in the world and in 2001 Dwayne entered the Guinness Book of Records as the highest paid debuting lead actor for his star-making turn in The Scorpion King. After several years of ever-decreasing in-ring appearances, Dwayne left wrestling behind in 2004 to fully focus on his burgeoning Hollywood career. Despite commanding eight figure sums for every starring role, the mid-2000s would see Dwayne's career start to falter, with lukewarm critical reviews at best for his creative output. Dwayne had been forcibly separated from everything that had made him and The Rock character an overnight success until finally he decided enough was enough and took back control of his destiny. In 2011, Dwayne would return to his roots, not only as a pro wrestler but as The Rock, and has not looked back since.Jam-packed with quotes from his friends, family, co-workers and the man himself, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson: The People's Champion is the most comprehensive and exhaustive biography ever created on "The Most Electrifying Man in Sports and Entertainment".
