Transition Reynolds Numbers of Separated Flows at Supersonic Speeds available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Experimental research has been conducted on the effects of wall cooling, Mach number, and unit Reynolds number on the transition Reynolds number of cylindrical separated boudary layers on an ogive-cylinder model. Results were obtained from pressure and temperature measurements and shadowgraph observations. The maximum scope of measurements encompassed Mach numbers between 2.06 and 4.24, Reynolds numbers (based on length of separation) between 60,000 and 400,000, and ratios of wall temperatures to adiabatic wall temperature between 0.35 and 1.0.

Chang. This book was released on 2014-06-28. Separation of Flow available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Interdisciplinary and Advanced Topics in Science and Engineering, Volume 3: Separation of Flow presents the problem of the separation of fluid flow. This book provides information covering the fields of basic physical processes, analyses, and experiments concerning flow separation. Organized into 12 chapters, this volume begins with an overview of the flow separation on the body surface as discusses in various classical examples. This text then examines the analytical and experimental results of the laminar boundary layer of steady, two-dimensional flows in the subsonic speed range. Other chapters consider the study of flow separation on the two-dimensional body, flow separation on three-dimensional body shape and particularly on bodies of revolution. This book discusses as well the analytical solutions of the unsteady flow separation. The final chapter deals with the purpose of separation flow control to raise efficiency or to enhance the performance of vehicles and fluid machineries involving various engineering applications. This book is a valuable resource for engineers.

Download and read online ebook Turbulent Shear Layers in Supersonic Flow write by Alexander J. Smits. This book was released on 2006-05-11. Turbulent Shear Layers in Supersonic Flow available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. A good understanding of turbulent compressible flows is essential to the design and operation of high-speed vehicles. Such flows occur, for example, in the external flow over the surfaces of supersonic aircraft, and in the internal flow through the engines. Our ability to predict the aerodynamic lift, drag, propulsion and maneuverability of high-speed vehicles is crucially dependent on our knowledge of turbulent shear layers, and our understanding of their behavior in the presence of shock waves and regions of changing pressure. Turbulent Shear Layers in Supersonic Flow provides a comprehensive introduction to the field, and helps provide a basis for future work in this area. Wherever possible we use the available experimental work, and the results from numerical simulations to illustrate and develop a physical understanding of turbulent compressible flows.

Download and read online ebook Research on Supersonic Turbulent Separated and Reattached Flows write by Seymour M. Bogdonoff. This book was released on 1975. Research on Supersonic Turbulent Separated and Reattached Flows available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Basic research programs are reported with fundamental applications to supersonic flight. The experimental studies made use of the unique capabilities of the high Reynolds number Mach 3 facility. The experimental programs concentrated on phenomena associated with incipient separation and separation of turbulent boundary layers over a large Reynolds number range. The reattachment phenomena of a shear layer was also studied in great depth.
